Nestled well off the public road giving a feeling of remoteness, yet only a 20-minute drive to Whitby and the coast, or 5 minutes to the beautiful village of Goathland. The cottage is one of two, situated on a working hill farm with breathtaking panoramic views over the North York Moors National Park and a place of peace and tranquillity, set amidst truly breathtaking scenery. The area is a haven for walkers and cyclists with numerous pathways and cycle tracks on your doorstep to choose from and there are pubs nearby which provide meals. This beautiful cottage has an open plan living, dining and a well-equipped kitchen area with all you should need to rustle up a tasty meal. The underfloor heating and a wood burner ensure a warm, romantic feel and is perfect to relax in front of after a day of exploration. To make your stay as relaxing as possible a complimentary supply of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, cotton wool and paper handkerchiefs are supplied. Outside there is a large lawn, which is located at the front of the cottages and has a picnic table, large bench seat and a children’s play area. To the rear is a large picnic table, which enjoys a more quiet location. Made famous by the TV series, Heartbeat, the village of Goathland remains like a scene from the past where you will still see parts of ’Aidensfield’, as the village was called in the series. The inviting sound of the North York Moors Railway can be heard beckoning you to enjoy a nostalgic ride aboard one of the many steam trains travelling between Whitby and Pickering. The wonderful town of Whitby is about 9 miles away and is also known for fishing, fish and chips, and its 3 mile stretch of beach. Discover the myriad of shops in the cobbled lanes, climb the famous 199 steps to the abbey ruins which towers over the fishing town, or take a boat for a sail round the coast. Keep an eye on the calendar for a host of festivals and events taking place throughout the year. The traditional seaside resort of Scarborough is 22 miles away with its cliff top castle, beaches, pier and Sea Life Centre, as well as the many summer concerts at the Open Air Theatre. The quaint fishing and smuggling villages of Robin Hoods Bay, Runswick Bay and Staithes all have their own appeal with beaches, narrow lanes and alleyways to explore and a strong maritime history can be enjoyed. The real beauty of the area lies in its miles and miles of natural landscape. Beach 9 miles. Shop 5 miles, pub 2 miles and restaurant 3 miles.
