Carterton-rural getaway

Our fully self contained cottage is located between Carterton and Greytown, and separate to house. Double glazed windows/heat pump=warmth on chilly evenings. Cottage has a separate bedroom, with a pull out dble bed(with a inner sprung mattress) and a single bed in the lounge/living area. Rural/mountain views. Seasonal swimming pool. Full kitchen(hob, oven, d/washer, fridge/freezer) and washing machine. Enjoy a Nespresso and some home baking on us! Check us out on instagram @waihakekefarm The space We live on a working farm with cows, sheep, chickens, ducks and sometimes pigs, plus a couple of dogs-who are friendly and good with kids. Lovely views towards Eastern Hills and the Tararua Range. We use eco friendly cleaning products, and encourage our guests to use the recycling and composting containers. As the cottage is double glazed it is cool in Summer and warm in Winter-although a heat pump, and extra heating, and blankets are available. Guests tell us just having the open spaces and gorgeous views are super relaxing. While we are rural, we're not far from the shops, supermarkets and restaurants in Greytown to the South and Carterton to the North. The cottage and farm are easy to find, located just off the main highway. Come enjoy the gorgeous Wairarapa! Guest access You're welcome to take a walk on the farm-just ask first so we can tell you the boundaries and any hazards. Many of the sheep are friendly and can be hand fed. We've got a trampoline and fort for the kids, chickens, ducks and 2 labradors who are happy to say 'hi'. Other things to note We will provide some provisions for the first morning's breakfast-perhaps some eggs from our chickens, muesli type cereal, home made jam and local honey and freshly made bread. These may not be what you would normally have however, so feel free to bring your own. Of course we are only 5 minutes drive to some wonderful cafes that serve amazing pastries, through to full cooked breakfasts. As we are on a farm there are at times animals right next to the cottage. We'd never put inconsiderate animals who are noisy at 6am in the morning on purpose! At times we will be driving machinery-so please be aware and supervise your children. Please note that we do not charge any extra cleaning or service fees.
