Description
Our home is in an 80 acre wildlife sanctuary on the edge of the rainforest in the Byron hinterland. Wallabies graze the lawn and the bird & cicada chorus at dawn/dusk is just magical. The house is a strawbale and stone building with plunge pool, outdoor bath & expansive views across the rainforest. The house has an open airy contemporary feel. Mostly staying here is about emersing yourself in nature...kicking back and tickling the silence. The space We spent 3 years slowly getting to know the site before building our dream home in 2008. Our home is a strawbale, stone and glass building, with solar (and mains) power, solar hotwater, a greywater reedbed, compost toilet, and 50,000 litres of roof catchment drinking water. A stunning plunge pool, and outdoor bathroom, expansive views across the rainforest. Eat from our plentiful vegetable garden and fruit orchards. The house has an open airy contemporary design feel. It has been profiled in many noteable magazines/newspapers. The outdoor bathroom was named 'Australias most beautiful bathroom' by Home Beautiful Magazine in 2010. We have an expansive library, projection screen (and streaming access) and music....but mostly staying here is about emersing yourself in nature. It would best suit a couple, but we are open to small family stays as long as the space and quiet is honoured. Cot available for babies/toddlers, and other children's equipment/toys. Guest access The whole property is available to guests. A third bedroom (not listed) is locked and used to store our personal effects. Registration details PID-STRA-71309
