The space Situated on a private allotment just a short 15-minute drive from Apollo Bay town center, Bunjil Retreat is surrounded by a forest of ancient Blackwood trees, majestic Messmate gum trees, and lush ferns. It is a place where you can truly connect with nature and each other, while still enjoying the comforts you desire. The retreat features a cozy king bedroom adorned with quality linen and an ensuite bathroom with a large claw foot bath overlooking the native treetops. In the evenings, you can snuggle up in the inviting lounge area and listen to the crackle of the wood fireplace (Firewood is provided). The expansive decking that surrounds the retreat provides the perfect vantage point to admire the stunning blend of greens and golds from the forest and grasslands. Inside, you will find modern amenities such as a 55-inch smart TV, wifi, and a fully equipped kitchen with a gas oven, fridge/freezer, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine with milk frother, and everything you need to prepare your own meals. The retreat also offers parking for two cars, eco-silent ceiling fans, rain tank water with filtered drink water system, split system heating/cooling, outdoor dining, and a covered pergola. During the right season, the garden is abundant with different types of apples, pears, Nashi pears, olives, and a variety of flowering trees. As you explore the property, keep an eye out for native wildlife including our resident koalas and the magnificent Wedge-tailed Eagles, gracefully soaring through the valley. According to the Bunjil Creation Dreamtime story, Bunjil is believed to be the Ancestral Wedge-tailed Eagle, the creator of all things. Also, within close proximity are the stunning waterfalls dotted throughout the Otways, scenic bike tracks and hikes to explore. Upon arrival, you will find your beds beautifully made with professionally laundered crisp, white linen, allowing you to relax and settle in immediately. Bath towels are provided, but please remember to bring your own beach towels if you plan to visit the nearby shores. Hand towels, bath mats, and tea towels are all included for your convenience. SLEEPS 2 GUESTS ONLY Bedroom: King Bed Guest access Guests have exclusive access to the house and the 15 acres of walking tracks, forest and gardens. Other things to note MOBILE COVERAGE: There is limited mobile coverage at the property, however there is wifi so guests can connect their phone to wifi to receive calls if their handset supports this feature (most new phones have this function). RUBBISH COLLECTION: This is an eco stay and there is no council rubbish collection service present, guests are required to remove all rubbish at the conclusion of their stay, there is a transfer station in Apollo Bay and another in Winchelsea for guests to dispose of rubbish on the way home. If rubbish is left onsite, our cleaners will remove it at the guests costs, minimum charge is $88. No pets as there is native wildlife on the property.
