Relaxo Eco House Ranch

Rancho Relaxo Eco House is an off-grid property, just a 10 minute drive (13kms) outside of Daylesford, VIC. It is an ideal couples retreat or a friends getaway. The Cottage is two story and the main bed and additional bed (within the reading area) is located on the 2nd level. The Cottage, including the sleeping areas, is an open plan space with natural light and views of the spring fed dams and paddocks. Local bird life is abundant and you may see the occasional Kangaroo wandering the grounds. The space RREH is an off-grid property, relying on Solar and energy storage batteries for power, a Ned Kelly wood burning fireplace for heating and a worm farm system for waste management. The house is very well insulated with double glazing on the windows/doors to keep the cottage warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Ceiling fans add an extra level of comfort for those really hot days. The open plan design of the cottage makes it spacious and full of light but it is worth noting that both the sleeping areas are open and on the upstairs mezzanine level. The bathroom consists of basin, toilet and shower with amenities provided by Aurora Day Spa. All linen is provided and we supply some kitchen staples such as oil, salt, pepper etc. The property has approx. 8 dams, 3 of which are spring fed and the resident cows will wander the paddocks nearby. The property is not suitable for young children or pets. Guest access Guests are welcome to wander the grounds but we do as that they take care as there are wild animals in the area. The property backs onto wombat forest. Sheds are not accessible and will be locked. Other things to note RREH is an off-grid property and even though we provide some of the mod cons, we ask that guests are mindful of their energy and water consumption whilst staying. High voltage items such as hairdryers, kettle, toaster and grill should be used one at a time as they draw a lot of power and can shutdown the system if used simultaneously. More information on this is provided in our welcome book and we encourage all guest to read this when they arrive. We do not accept pets at the property so please consider this when booking. The person making the booking must be a staying guest, please do not book on behalf of someone else. Although we have blinds and curtains on majority of the windows and doors, we have a feature window on the mezzanine level that does not have a blind.
