Deer's Leap - Shepherds Hut in the meadow

Available April - October. Located in our meadow & close to woodland, our 2 off-grid (no electricity) Shepherd Huts sit side by side & share facilities. Deer's Leap and Hide & Sea huts each sleeps 2 provide a complete getaway & cozy retreat for camping with a difference. Campfire area with firepit, bbq & seating. Great experience for couples just wanting to escape & drop out for a while. Wake up to beautiful sunrises, peaceful surroundings & enjoy the great views over the moors & to the sea. The space Equipped with a comfortable double bed, Bench seating area, wood burning stove, hand made furniture, sink & kitchen area (pots & pans included). No electricity in the hut (battery operated lighting provided) - all the better for gazing at the amazing dark skies we enjoy in this part of the North York Moors. Cold water supply only - provided directly from our spring. (Hot water and electricity in our nearby barn) The double bed will have a clean mattress protector but no bedding or bed linen. Guests tend to bring along their own bedding, bed linen & towels but we can provide for a small fee, which can be paid on arrival - please advise on booking. Indoor Wood Burning Stove for Heating - a basket of logs will be included in your rental, further supplies must be purchased on site (to ensure the correct fuel for the Stove). There is a shared self composting loo next to the two Shepherd Huts. Outdoor Camp Fire Area with firepit. You can bring along your own camping stove for boiling a kettle/cooking. Alternatively you can hire a camping stove and purchase the gas from us. BBQ available to use - guests to provide their own charcoal or can purchase from us. . And if none of that appeals - there is an electric kettle, fridge and microwave, provided in our barn. There are lots of fabulous cafes, pubs and restaurants in nearby Robin Hoods Bay or Whitby. Our barn nearby ( 150 metres & 3 minute walk away ) has electricity and hot water. There is a private shower area - just shared with the other hut and a standard toilet for each huts private use. WiFi connection for guests who want to escape but just can't bring themselves to leave the technology behind) along with games room - includes TV, sofas, pool table, bar football and darts board. Free parking is available onsite and less than 5 minute walk to the Shepherd Huts in the meadow. Electric vehicle charger on site - fees apply. Sorry but being off- grid , we are unable to accommodate dogs in Deers Leap. Guests should be aware that the hut has a log burning stove for heating, in a confined area (should you wish to use it). Please note - IT IS NOT SUITABLE ACCOMMODATION FOR YOUNG CHILDREN and whilst we do not exclude children, we advise a minimum age of 11 and it is the guests decision and responsibility when booking the accommodation. Fancy an adventure - 'Memories are made at Meadowbeck' Guest access Guests will have access to the Shepherd Hut, Campfire area, Games Room Other things to note The toilets and shower are located in our barn - a 5 minute walk from the Shepherd Huts. There is a toilet allocated to each Shepherd Hut and the shower is just shared with one Hut. There is an eco loo next to the Shepherds Hut, which again is shared with the neighbouring hut. Free parking is in the car park and 5 minutes walk from the Shepherd Huts.
