Description

A beautiful 17th C Grade II listed farmhouse in the heart of beautiful Batcombe vilage, with valley views. Under 5 mins walk to the newly reopened Three Horseshoes pub. Large gardens with parking for 2 cars (plus on street). Featured in Period Homes magazine, it is full of original features with a wood burner in each sitting room, wood-fired hot tub, fire bowl, gravel garden and terrace. Close to Bruton, Frome, Glastonbury, Wells, Bath & Bristol and Jurassic coast (one hour). The space The Weavers House is a Grade II listed home which has been loving restored. There are lots of original features and quirky touches. There is a piano which you are welcome to use. Or curl up with a movie by the woodburner. You can have the french doors open from the kitchen and living room onto garden terrace and the dining room can seat 8-10. We hope it will provide and home from home for you and your friends/ family/dogs. We accept up to two dogs but as we have free range chickens it is vital they are either used to chickens or kept under control in the garden. We have two Jack Russell’s so the house and garden are dog friendly and I will leave a dog towel and dog water bowl for your use. Please don’t allow dogs upstairs due to carpets and bring a rug if they like to sit on the sofa with you! Bedrooms sleep 9 as follows: Bed One - Super King bed en suite bathroom with bath and hand shower Bed Two- King size bed Bed Three- King size bed/ basin Bed Three- Double bed Bed Four- Single bed The gardens are lovely for relaxing and include a wood fired hot tub, fire bowl, hanging egg chair, hammock, wendy house and monkey bars to keep children entertained. Please note there is also a small pond so small children need supervising. The garden also is not on one level so parents with toddlers would need to supervise children. Guest access The whole house and garden. Please note there is also a 17th Century Grade Cider House cottage in the far corner of our garden which has a lady living in it. This does not affect your privacy as the two properties are quite separate with their own garden spaces and terraces. The driveway is shared so please be considerate when parking to keep access clear at all times. Other things to note Please note this a family home so there are some personal effects and photos. However, we also run yoga retreats from the house so it also feels clear and spacious and ready to welcome other guests to enjoy the space. If you would like to use the wood fired hot tub there is an extra charge of £40 for the wood (it takes quite a lot to heat!) and for the outside firebowl. There are some steps up to the house and from each door and the garden is on several levels so may not be suitable for someone with mobility issues. There is not much mobile reception in the village for any networks, though there is good WiFi in the house for WIFI calls.
