Description
Located in Upper Wharfedale, the whole site, which consists of the ruined Barden Tower, the Priests House function venue and the bunk barn, is grade 1 listed being an important historical site in the Yorkshire Dales. The site perched overlooking the Wharfedale valley below boasts fantastic views in all directions. The barn has been extensively refurbished during the lockdown, with the kitchen area in particular being extended. The space The barn consists of: - a large community area with three dining tables, a full kitchen with a large fridge, a freezer, cookers, microwave and all the utensils you should require (and if short of anything the restaurant is next door...) and a free to play pool table - a relaxing area on the mezzanine with couches, chairs, coffee tables, DVD and CD players with a selection of DVD/CD's. Some board games, reading materials and leaflets. - A bedroom of 4 which has a double bed, a room of 2 and two bedrooms of 6 - Separate ladies and gents washrooms with two showers in each - Fully centrally heated with mobile oil heaters when the weather turns really cold - 2 great outside seating areas including an enclosed courtyard with a BBQ. - Parking in front of the barn for 6 cars The site is magical in the dark - and it is dark...no street lights spoiling things. With owls hooting and bats fluttering overhead you get a real sense of solitude. We regularly have kestrels residing in the Tower, swallows in the eves of the barn and Oystercatchers patrolling the walls. Some 20 ducks will follow your every move waiting for your spare bread... Other things to note All bedding and towels are provided. All kitchen cleaning products including tea towels etc are provided. We do expect guests to recycle glass, plastic bottles and cardboard in the bins provided. If you have a dog, then please note there are ducks and pheasants on site and sheep in the next door field so it needs to be kept under control at all times.
