Orchid Beach is situated at the Northern end of Fraser Island near Waddy Point and is about a 2 hour drive up the beach from Inskip Point. The Island is only accessible by 4WD. This area is surrounded by National Parks from the Sandy Cape to Indian Head. The Orchid Beach Trading Post and Driftwood Bar is a local shop that caters for your basic needs including, milk, bread, ice, bait and petrol. Alcohol can be purchased from the licensed bar. They also serve meals from Friday to Sunday. Bookings are required. Orchid Beach is a sleepy little town perfect for a relaxing get away where you can enjoy fishing, 4WD driving, and swimming in the natural Lagoons that form down at Waddy Point. Easy walk to beach at a leisurely pace takes around 15 minutes from the home. To drive down to Waddy Point to set up and relax for the day is about a 4 kilometer drive taking about 10 minutes.
