"The place is perfect ... great design, love the art, and super easy to walk everywhere. We always recommend this spot to friends," Angela 2023 "Location! I have never stayed in a more centralized airbnb!" Suzy 2023 Super cool, comfy Loft (at the Lumberyard) in Marfa, at the center of everything. Artistic touches, nice linens, deluxe queen bed, balcony view. Special. Shares complex with Do Your Thing coffee. The space The Loft at the Lumberyard is a unique and uniquely Marfan place to stay right smack in the middle of everything in town. Cool, cozy, private, historic and Marfa-Modern with a balcony view of the southern plateau. From Texas Highways Magazine: "[In Marfa] signage is more often a reflection of the creativity of the business than a guide for the lost or curious. One such place is The Lumberyard, a collection of studios for painters, artisans, woodworkers, and fashion designer Ashley Rowe ... The happening compound is also home to the Do Your Thing coffeehouse ... " Half a half a block from main street and directly across the street from our gourmet natural food store and wine shop, The Get Go Grocery, as well as Ballroom Marfa, one block from The Pizza Foundation, The Lost Horse Saloon and Marfa National Bank, and within two blocks of Cochineal Restaurant, City Hall, Marfa Hardware Store, Stripes Convenience Store, and much more -- it really is the ideal location in town (make sure to check addresses of listings that say "walking distance"). The bed is super comfy and all natural. There's a record player, and records, books and local art. The couch is a fold down if you have an extra guest. There's a speaker system to plug your iPod or computer into. The WIFl is a 100mb mesh system managed by BIg Bend Telephone from a fiber line in the alley. You have your own private entrance in the alley and you can unload directly in front of the unit. The space was one half of the lumber storage building at the old Corder Lumberyard and Hardware store that existed for decades in Marfa, The stylings inside, like the whole Lumberyard, are minimalist-industrial. The spine (the ceiling joists, loft structure) was built around instead of removed. You can see where the racks were pulled apart and the wood re-purposed (for the balcony and the Do Your Thing kitchen counter, for example). Many of the fixtures and touches are built with black pipe from the Corder Lumber and Hardware store. The large metal casements windows are from the site. The tables where built on site. The red Mexican cement tiles in the bathroom and shower were on site. Currently there are three painters, a fashion designer, an architect, an interior designer, a writer and a filmmaker using workspaces in the Lumberyard compound. Your balcony is over the courtyard where they come to work and from it you can see Cathedral Mountain to the SE and far across the McGuire Ranch South towards Mexico. Again Do You Thing coffee is operates out of The Lumberyard and is just a few steps away. Symphonic, ecstatic, coffee. The giant courtyard and shade structure can fit hundreds for events, making The Lumberyard an all-inclusive place to meet, eat, throw a party and sleep right in the middle of town. Email for event pricing. Guest access The loft has a private entrance. Other things to note The queen sized bed is super deluxe, supremely comfortable (see reviews).
