Moodemere Lake House

The Moodemere Lake House is uniquely Australian and fully self contained. Situated in the midst of picturesque Lake Moodemere Estate, the Moodemere Lake House offers the ultimate in wine destinations. The broad deck and living area provide absolute views of Lake Moodemere, while the bedroom faces the extensive vineyard. At dusk light up the fire pit and experience the spectacular sunset over Lake Moodemere. There is only one guest house so privacy is guaranteed. The space A short walk along the bank of Lake Moodemere and the vineyard leads to the Lake Moodemere Estate cellar door where guests may enjoy breakfast or lunch in our Lakeside Restaurant and wine tasting in our heritage cellar door. From your deck you may spend the morning watching for platypus. There are over 100 species of birds, including eagles, swans and pelicans. Native wildlife such as echidnas and kangaroos are regular visitors. For a fun challenge test your skill with the Great Lake Moodemere Hole in One at the cellar door where the green floats in the lake. Lake Moodemere Estate is a working vineyard and farm. The changing seasons offer many opportunities to get involved, such as grape picking or experiencing the shearing shed in action. The Lake House is situated 7kms from Rutherglen, and nestled in the midst of number of wineries and attractions. Wineries may be easily accessed by foot or bicycle along pretty country lanes. Golfers are spoilt for choice with three championship golf courses within a 30 minute radius. A walk around Lake Moodemere, and along the Murray River will take around 2hours and provide many memorable, unique, and beautiful sights. The track is also suitable for mountain bikes. Other things to note Breakfast is not included, however a full breakfast is available at our Lakeside Restaurant for $50 per couple. This is a one bedroom cottage. Babes in arms may be accommodated by arrangement. Sorry, due to the very close proximity to the Moodemere Reserve pets are not permitted. Our Lakeside Restaurant is not open in the evening however a delicious meal of Estate Grown Lamb and salads freshly prepared by our chef may be supplied for $60 per couple.
