The space Designed and built exclusively by us for two guests or solo adventurers seeking a quiet, authentic escape. Set on a raised platform, our custom A-frame canvas tent blends traditional pole-and-canvas craft with modern thermal efficiency and floating floor and walls . Thick sheep’s wool insulation and a secondary thermal reflective barrier ensure you stay cozy on cold mountain nights and comfortable during warmer summer days. The unique design features a true low carbon innovative approach that enables the space to remain at an ambient temperature from just body heat alone. Inside, you’ll find: A comfortable king-size mattress with all bedding and towels provided. Solar-powered internal lighting (fully dimmable for a warm, cozy ambience) and dimmable outdoor festoon lights. Lockable phone boxes in reception with rapid QC3 charging with USB A&C socket. (*rapid charge cable required/not provided though standard A&C cables work) Dedicated storage shelf for electronics/keys and an upper storage nook for your rucksacks. Under-platform storage designed specifically for bulky outdoor kit like bikes or paddleboards. Outside, your private porch opens up to widen your field of view across the dark sky reserve. Unwind on the full-size picnic bench or relax on the two stargazing beanbag cubes to take in the night sky. Private & On-Site Facilities Private Bathroom: Your own dedicated WC and hot shower just steps from your tent. Private Sauna & Cold Shower: Available daily (5:00 PM – 9:00 PM) for 2 guests. Reservable for a small fee to ensure private, exclusive access. Y Beudy Steakhouse & Bar: On-site dining serving local breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and drinks (8:00 AM – 10:00 PM). 24/7 Reception Hub: Bean-to-cup coffee, hot chocolates, milkshakes, snacks, and porridge pots available around the clock—perfect for early morning trail starts. Shared Amenities: undercover washing-up station, kettle, and a dedicated makeup/hairdryer station. Gear Care: Undercover drying area for wet hiking kit or gear, boot storage outside Genuine Eco Integrity & Biodiversity We care deeply about our footprint and local ecology: Dark-Sky Compliant: Designed with low-level, dimmable low-wattage lighting to preserve night skies and protect our neighboring SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) bat habitat but please turn outside lights off overnight. On-Site Water Treatment: All wastewater is treated naturally on-site to return pure water to local river systems. Bee Haven & Apiary: Our grounds feature dedicated wildflower/ nature zones and our own small apiary. Secure Parking: Gated, coded entry car park situated away from the living quarters to preserve quiet and safety. Car-Free & Green Travel Friendly We actively encourage low-carbon travel: Direct Mountain Bus: Catch the bus directly from the site entrance to Eryri / Mount Snowdon (servicing the Watkin, Miners, and PYG tracks) as well as picturesque Beddgelert. EV Charging: 5× Rapid EV Instavolt Chargers on site. Train Access: Porthmadog main railway station is just 5 minutes away by taxi. Nearby Attractions: Minutes from Portmeirion, Harlech and Criccieth Castles, coastal beaches, Zip World, and the historic Welsh Highland & Ffestiniog Railways. House Rules & Guest Expectations Adults Only: Maximum occupancy is 2 adults (18+). No children or infants. No Pets: To protect local wildlife, the SSSI bat habitat, and our apiary, we maintain a strict no-dog policy. Quiet Hours (9:00 PM – 8:00 AM): We preserve a tranquil atmosphere for stargazing and peaceful sleep. Loud music, parties, or noisy group gatherings are not permitted. Mindful Living: Designed for outdoor enthusiasts who respect nature, leave no trace, and value genuine environmental stewardship. Guest access Tents are in a private field exclusive for guests with access to private facilities via a bridge/footpath. Tents guest have access to car parking spaces adjacent to the tents on the main car graveled park 8am-10pm. Outside of these hours (or if arriving late or leaving early) guests should park on the 'Y Beudy' car park and access is via the pedestrian gate. Other things to note Additional extras are also available for your stay including celebratory packs (prosecco/glasses/birthday card) and cutlery pack hire (plates, knife/fork/spoon, glasses) but please give adequate notice. The tents are set in the countryside/farmland so noises - sheep, cows, tractors, owls, birds etc. are common at night/early morning. Is also near a main road though usually quiet from about 10pm and the Cowshed restaurant operates with associated business activities on site/nearby 8am-10pm. Please note that as we have now leased the Cowshed then breakfast previously referred to in guest reviews is not included in the price/adjusted accordingly. Similarly comments regarding log burners should be ignored as are now not required due to the thermal insulation/self heating capability of the tents.
