A charming rustic home-stay with basic comforts expected by urban dwellers. Gaunap, a village inside Binsar wildlife sanctuary in Uttarakhand Himalayas, India is far away from the usual hustle-bustle of cities. No roads (yes, you have to trek 3 km to reach the village!) and poor mobile connectivity (perfect digital detox!) give you an opportunity to experience nature at its best. We have a total of 4 rooms. This is a listing for one of them. The space Far from the madding crowds of the bustling cities. Lots of nature all around you. Breathtaking vistas of the Himalayan peaks. Read a book or even write one. Watch the sunrise through the windows of your room. Wake up to the chirping of birds. Do some bird-watching. Mingle with the villagers. Visit the local school. Be charmed by the curious, twinkling eyes of the of the village kids. Try your hand at farming. Be pampered by the highly hospitable Bora family. Help them in the kitchen, if you please. Visit the Binsar zero-point to catch a glimpse of the famed view of the mountain ranges. Or walk up to the village temple to get the same view. Go on short hikes if you will. Or just chill. Our recently renovated home-stay has 4 comfortable rooms with a western toilet (probably a basic amenity for a city dweller but a luxury in a remote village!) with a skylight roof Please note that our tariff includes accommodation and breakfast. It also includes meet-and-greet at Binsar TRH. IMPORTANT: Note that the village is not connected by road. It is a 3 km downhill trek through the forest from Binsar KMVN TRH. Uphill on the way back. Since the trek is through a forest, the guests have to reach Binsar TRH before 4 pm, so that there is still light when they trek to the village. Guest access We have four private rooms with attached toilets. There is a common dining room too. During your stay At least one member of the Bora family will be there to take care of your needs during your stay at Idyllic Haven. Other things to note You can also find reviews of our home-stay on trip advisor. Please note that getting to the home-stay from Binsar TRH (the nearest road head) involves a 3 km walk. So a certain level of fitness is required to get to our village and back Please inform us about the approximate time of arrival at least a day in advance, so that we can send a guide to received you at Binsar KMVN TRH and escort you to the village. If you need help with carrying your luggage, let us know at least a day before the arrival date and we can arrange for either a porter or mules (for an extra fee) Our tariff includes accommodation and breakfast (CP plan). It also includes meet-and-greet at Binsar TRH. 50% discount for children between 5 to 10 years. Children below 5 years stay for free Guided tours into the forest will cost extra.
