The format provides independence for sub groups who as appropriate, can congregate together in the generous proportions of the ground floor's main rooms. The space Bod Idris is a large Victorian dwelling over 4 floors that was once run as a Private Hotel. It is now divided into 3 self contained units that can be opened to provide interconnected accommodation for large groups of up to 20. The benefit of this arrangement is that subgroups are able to make their individual arrangements yet come together for group events in the large ground floor rooms. It makes an ideal arrangement for guests who wish to cater for special occasions and reunions. The property is defined by its location and views. Everyone who stays remarks on these features.They are outstanding . Bod Idris is located on the outskirts of Barmouth overlooking the estuary and harbour. It is away from the noise of the town but benefits from easy access both to the town, its coffee shops and bars but is equally situated for walks on foot up the mountains or across the famous railway bridge and beyond. The top and second floors each have 3 bedrooms ( one ensuite on each floor) a sitting/dining area a kitchen and a bathroom. There are 4 bedrooms on the 1st floor, each with ensuite ( the front ensuite is shared between the 2 front bedrooms). On the ground floor there is a large sitting room, a magnificent entrance hall and a large kitchen /dining/sitting area. Outside there is a terraced garden with seating and tables. Guest access The property is fronted by a small garden which is mostly paved. The main entrance and ground floor is some 5m above road level and reached by a number of steps. Guests have access to the entire house via an internal staircase. There is also separate access to each level via an external staircase. Other things to note Parking is available in a layby opposite the house. This is subject to availability. Alternative parking is available on the Dolgellau approach road or in Craig Fach pay and display car park some 150m away. Below the property is a small quiet sandy beach with rock coves.
