Rural escape for two in peaceful, private location

If you crave uninterrupted peace, nature, huge skies and zero traffic you'll love Danclawdd. At the far end of a private no through track, you can walk into the National Park Preselis from the front door. The cottage is also ideally located for accessing spectacular coastal walks & beaches around the county & is 45 mins from St David's. Central heating, king sized bed, newly fitted shower room (no bath), wifi, log burner, parking. NO PETS DUE TO LOCATION IN FARMLAND. The space A private, secluded fully equipped holiday cottage set at the foot of the Preseli Hills in Pembrokeshire, with spectacular views towards the highest point in the county. Danclawdd was converted in 2013 from a stone built Welsh longhouse; a longhouse was a traditional one-roomed property usually on a farm and this one dates back to approx 17th century. Now, the cottage has all the comforts of a modern space yet with charm and individuality. The totally self-contained accommodation is located next door to the owners' Welsh stone cottage, at the end of a private no through track with zero traffic noise and pitch black skies perfect for star gazing or astro-photography. There is only the one guest cottage so it is incredibly quiet, with all of the fields around being sheep farming land. It offers a bright, airy cooking/dining/living space complete with Swedish log burner for chillier evenings. There is a spacious bedroom with king sized bed. The newly refurbished bathroom has a large walk in rainfall & standard shower (please note there is no bath in the cottage). All linen is provided apart from beach towels. We also offer oil fired central heating, free rural wi-fi and a supply of sundries to get you started on your holiday. The cottage has a washing machine, dishwasher, cooker/hob, microwave, nespresso machine, kettle, toaster and a full range of crockery and cooking utensils. It is located on one level (there is one step into the main property from the driveway) so is very easily accessible. I live on the smallholding with my husband and our 2 cats so am on hand if you need me for any issues. We also have a small flock of tame pet sheep who love to meet new people and who we are happy to introduce you to for hand feeding and general sheepie meet & greet. Guest access Parking next to the cottage is provided and we can store cycles/surfboards securely too if you'd like us to - please let us know in advance. There is plenty of space to sit in the gardens and enjoy the views, with a table and chairs provided for sunset viewing or reading in the fresh air. We can also offer the opportunity of fast electric vehicle charging, please ask for more details and arrangements. Other things to note Danclawdd is accessed down a gravel farm track from the main road through Maenclochog village, approximately 500 metres in length. The track is gravel & mainly level, but may not suit very low suspension vehicles as we get rain and erosion! Currently no pets as we are situated in the heart of sheep farming country and the cottage lies in our gardens, and does not have a secure area for dogs.
