Description

House ideally located near the GR34 on the large island in a very quiet and peaceful place (in a cul-de-sac) with a beautiful terrace, overlooking an enclosed garden, 400 m from the beach, 800 m from the nautical base. Hikers can leave the house and discover the large island as well as the 17 km of the customs trail (GR 34), a paradise of sandy beaches in various colors and an amazing and beautiful granite chaos. The space It consists of a maximum of six beds, but can be quite suitable for solo travelers, couples, or larger families, wishing to move freely in a space of 110 square meters. Each mattress and bedding are specialized for a complete rest for sleepers. For colder days you have the option to light a large fireplace that gives body to the Carmine red living room. There is no shortage of vegetation, whether on the island or around the house. You can also have lunch or dinner at your leisure in the small outdoor garden while sunbathing and enjoying the sea air. The beach, as well as the main grocery store on the island, is only 400 meters away from the house, ideal for walking enthusiasts who want to take their daily walk. Other things to note Small historical and current reminders for the curious: During World War II: During the Second World War, the Alibi Resistance intelligence network established speedboat connections with Great Britain. A Stele in Port-Gelen recalls the action of this network on Île-Grande. One of the navigators of these speedboats was Jane Birkin's father Blue and white granite: The tide changes the face of Île-Grande and the string of islets that surround it at will, to be discovered along the coastal path that allows you to tour the island in seven kilometers and about two and a half hours. Marshes, a small harbor, and beaches line this walk. Stone remains testify that between 1860 and 1910, 800 tons of blue and white granite were extracted every day from 14 hectares of quarries. This granite, whose exploitation declined and ceased in 1989, was used, among other things, to pave the streets of Paris, the quays of Boulogne and Dunkirk, and the Morlaix viaduct. An ornithological station: The former quarry of Kastell Erek is now the property of the League for the Protection of Birds (LPO), which has set up an ornithological station and a care center for oiled birds, victims of degassing and oil spills. Eight employees and up to 70 volunteers work in this structure. It is not possible to visit the care center, but cameras have been installed and allow visitors to the station to see the treatments provided to guillemots and other puffins so that they can fly again.
