Very nice for 2 couples or 1 couple with children (but not suitable for more than 2 workers). Charming and warm house, with 400 m2 of garden, very quiet despite its location in the center of the village of "la Machine", an old mining town located 5 km from St Léger des Vignes and Decize and 1/2 hour from Moulin and Nevers. Small cozy nest, ideal for a quiet, relaxing and rejuvenating stay! Bicycles, petanque, BBQ, hammocks are at your disposal to enhance your stay. The space Located in the center of the small village of La Machine, just behind the church and the town hall, the maisonette is nevertheless in a quiet alley with very little traffic. A peaceful haven in the middle of the village! Everything can be done on foot: local shops, Intermarché, Saturday morning markets, visit to the mine museum, walk in the undergrowth at the foot of the slag heaps, sports course around the Grenetier pond, petanque, guinguette, etc. Possible activities include: hiking or biking, horseback riding or canoeing, cultural and gastronomic visits, fishing, hunting, swimming and relaxation, tennis, petanque, flea markets, etc. Guest access House and garden are fully accessible to guests and no space is shared, everything is private Other things to note This maisonette is an old miner's house. The interior door frames are quite low. A little history: Coal seams were exploited very early in the open at La Machine. Then, under the impetus of Colbert, underground extraction began. The city takes its name from a machine imported from Belgium in the 18th century intended for the descent to the "bottom" of men, horses and materials. The mine was closed in 1974 after three centuries of operation. The inhabitants of La Machine are called the Machinois.
