FREE PARKING: In front of the house, next to my car and inside the first garden, for bicycles, scooters and motorcycles Guest access I will send you, during our first exchange, 2 Information Guides: "Where to park in Quiberon" and "How to come to the house"  IF YOU ARE COMING BY TRAIN: Get off at Auray, then • In summer: take the "Tire-Bouchon," small train to Quiberon, and the bus from the SNCF train station to the ferry terminal (if you want to do it on foot, allow 15 minutes) • Outside the summer period: take the bus to the Cie Océane ferry terminal (via Carnac, La Trinité-sur-Mer, about 1 hour drive) IF YOU COME BY CAR: In the guide "Where to park your car in Quiberon" you will find all the parking lots Avoid taking your car to Belle Ile: the price of the passage is exorbitant, same for the price of gasoline... and, on the island, from April to mid-November, there are very practical small buses, which will take you everywhere! TO COME TO BELLE-ILE From Quiberon, Cie Océane, crossing of about 50 minutes, cars and passengers (my advice if you are a little sensitive to seasickness: stay outside. The boat moves a little at the exit of Quiberon, but afterwards, the stabilizers are turned on and it calms down). From Vannes: Navix Company Only from April to September (passengers only) free parking on site Checkout around 8:00 a.m., check-in around 11:00 a.m. ITINERARY: The "How to come to the house" Guide with plans, details and photos will be sent to you during our first exchange Remember to send me your boat arrival time as soon as possible, so I know what time to welcome you No need to go to the Tourist Office, you will have a binder filled with useful information as well as a map of the island, hiking guide, bus schedules, and a guide to must-see places FOR YOUR 4-LEGGED COMPANIONS: For travelers who come with a cat or dog, no need to bring extra stuff: there is what you need in containers (bowls and bowls of all sizes) For cats: litter box with shovel, on request For dogs: good big cushion (removable, so cleaned between each user) + a small fleece blanket (for those who feel the cold) If your companion cannot accompany you on a walk or to the beach (some are forbidden in the summer, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.) they can stay in the back garden (fully enclosed terrace and garden, wood side, cool and shaded) you can even leave the bedroom door open, access to this garden is only through the accommodation. If you take it for a walk with you, a water bottle with its special integrated dog hiking bowl will be available, to slip into your backpack or to hang on your belt or harness And if you rent a car, large rear seat dog hammock provided on request For excrement made in the garden, it will be evacuated as you go and deposited at the foot of the shrubs with a large blue shovel that is placed near the bicycle shelter at the entrance to the garden Other things to note Belle-Île is a large island: 84 km2. It is about 20 km long and 9 km wide. To get a good overview of our pretty rock, especially if you want to hike around it, allow at least 5 days. FOR BIKE LOVERS... Warning! This is not a flat island, unlike the other islands. It is of volcanic origin (like the island of Groix) so we have very high cliffs and... very steep coasts (some are even forbidden by bicycle) A special map (Bicycle Map) is available in the information binder because we do not have bike paths. A map with routes dedicated to bicycles is available in the information binder. It will indicate the levels of difficulty: these are, for the most part, agricultural exploitation paths, or small roads that are little or no longer frequented in order to avoid those that are much more frequented and therefore, as a result, more dangerous because they are narrow. These routes do not follow the hiking trails because they are along the coast (these are the old coastal surveillance trails) which are sometimes narrow, often steep and totally forbidden to bicycles because they are too dangerous, they are therefore more inland, so as to have less elevation, to avoid the steep coasts and to be safer. The landscapes are a little less spectacular than the coast, but it is another vision of the island, more "gentle", and which has a crazy charm. Almost all bike lovers opt for a bike rental... with electric assistance which is, in my opinion, essential here! FOR HIKERS: The GR340: 85 km of trails of military origin (they were used to monitor the coasts, especially against English invasions) They are exclusively reserved for pedestrians. Bivouacs are strictly forbidden. The entire tour of the island is done in 5-6 days (4 for high-level hikers) in 4 stages WARNING: the elevation is significant: nearly 2200 m over the entire route (this relief is similar to that of a medium mountain) Bring good walking shoes because the trails are, in places, quite narrow and the rock is shale, so slippery in rainy weather If you use sticks, it will only be with rubber tips (decree of June 2022) in order to preserve the fragile soils You will need to have water bottles (2 are provided) and your picnic with you. 2 insulated bags with Tupperware boxes equipped with cutlery + small boxes for salad sauce and insulated pouch for refrigerated bread - in the freezer - are at your disposal as well as garbage bags to bring back ALL your waste (there are some, in advance, in the bags provided) because there are, voluntarily, no garbage cans: after several attempts, the gulls always manage to open them and the result is worse than anything... so we gave up and we count on the civility of the hikers to bring back their waste For those who hike with their dogs: 1 water bottle is available in the kitchenette. For your information, dogs are ONLY allowed on buses in a bag! To help you discover our beautiful island, you will have several documents in the information binder to take with you: The hiking guide (detailing the different stages, with the time it takes to complete them, the number of kilometers to be covered and the level of difficulty) the map of the island, the bus schedules, the tide schedules (for some places, including the Pointe des Poulains) And for those who can't resist the urge to take a dip in one of the beautiful little coves with turquoise waters that you will discover while walking, 2 Decathlon microfiber towels are also at your disposal (stored in a drawer of the white console in the room). Don't hesitate to slip them into your backpack! Registration Details 561520000549J
