Farm stay in Newbury

Beautifully located, self-contained, pet-friendly, studio on a private organic smallholding, set in some of England’s most beautiful countryside. Peaceful location, surrounded by glorious views, walks, & cycling routes. Easy access to Highclere Castle and many charming country pubs. We are a rural setting but only 5-10 mins from Newbury with good links to Oxford, Reading and Swindon. London is only 42 mins by train. Superfast internet means we are perfect for WFH and longer stays. The space The Studio is a large single-room living space with an ensuite bathroom. It has a full equipped kitchen (incl basic cooking essentials - tea , coffee, salt, pepper, oils, spice rack), seating / dining area, sleeping area and a generously sized shower and bathroom. You will have sole occupancy of the building. Off-road parking in a spacious and secure yard directly in front of your accommodation. We also have plenty of dry storage for bicycles and can offer bikes for hire if you don't have your own. The farm is home to dogs, chicken and horses. We also welcome people travelling with pets, and have had visiting dogs and cats staying with us. For those visiting with dogs, the area around you is completely fenced and we are happy for you to allow your dog(s) to roam freely in this area. There is an internal garden gate that separates our own dogs from this area, though they may occasionally come through with us. We have home-grown produce available to purchase on site - season-depending, including eggs, fruit and vegetables. We also have several beehives and produce our own honey. The perfect spot for nature-lovers, we are surrounded by fields, woodlands and a common, and running through our land is a beautiful chalk stream - The Winterbourne. We have a thriving bird population, including red kites, egrets, sparrow hawks and owls. Spot deer and bats at dusk, and for the eagle-eyed, you may catch a glimpse of our local badgers and foxes. LONGER STAYS We welcome guests who wish to stay for longer durations, whether they are in-between house moves or just looking for a break from the city. We have a large open-plan office that is can be booked by separate arrangement, should you wish to have more space to work in, or should couples wish to work in separate spaces. EQUESTRIAN FACILITIES Turn your weekend away into a staycation with your horses! We have two loose boxes available on site which can be hired at extra cost, together with use of your own turnout paddock. We can also accommodate parking of horse boxes. We are perfectly positioned for people attending Newbury Show who want stabling and comfortable guest accommodation just nearby. The show ground is c.10mins travel by horsebox. Guest access PARKING Off-road parking in a spacious and secure yard directly in front of your accommodation. EXTERNAL PATIO & BBQ There is an outdoor seating area with a table, chairs and a BBQ in front of your accommodation which you have sole use of. You may bring your own coal, or purchase coal on site. Walk the length of our grass track at the top of the hill which gives stunning views across the valley, especially at sunset. GYM We also have a fully equipped gym that can be used by arrangement. This includes weights, punchbag, multi-gym, pull-up bar, dip bar, and a treadmill. BIKES We have bikes that can be hired by arrangement. WORKSPACE We have a beautiful and large dedicated open plan office area with 300mbs wifi and desk space that you can use by arrangement if you need extra space to work from. The space is library to 5000 books (we run a publishing house) and has natural sunlight, making it a lovely space to work from. Other things to note PET FRIENDLY The farm is home to dogs, chicken, and horses. We also welcome people travelling with well-behaved pets, and have had visiting dogs, cats, and horses staying with us. For those visiting with dogs, the ‘yard’ area around you is completely fenced and we are happy for you to allow your dog(s) to roam freely in this area. We do not use any chemicals, applying only our own home-made compost on our crops. We also have several beehives and produce our own honey.
