Description
Tanjenong camp is nestled at the edge of the Abercrombie River Valley, with spectacular views overlooking the Great Dividing Range. Tanjenong is a 2,500 acre farm property which features over 12 kms of bush and paddock walks, plenty of wildlife, farm animals, starry starry nights, clean clear air, and incredible peace and tranquility. The space Vast and unlimited space, the tent is perched on the edge of a valley that drops 300m down to the Abercrombie River. Extensive bush views are everywhere, and on our walks you will find yet another setting, another aspect, another vision of the Australian Bush. The clear night skies are ablaze with stars you can’t see from the city. The rising full Moon is a sight to behold. The space gives us time and perspective to put ourselves in our place on the planet. Yirri, a 5 meter diameter tent, has a queen-sized bed and can also sleep an additional one or two children in single beds. It is quite tight with the extra beds but manageable if the kids aren't yet teenagers. Please enquire if you are interested in bringing along some small ones. Guest access You will have access to a Communal Camp kitchen that is shared by 2 other tents that has indoor cooking facilities, a fireplace, a sink with hot and cold running water, a rain water drinking tap, a shared refrigerator, a sound system, a sitting area and a dining table that seats eight. The Camp Kitchen deck is also available for your shared use. It has a seating area and a table with bar stools perched on the edge of the ravine with spectacular views, and a BBQ. Two toilets (composting) have been beautifully finished with local river stone and old fence palings. Two showers with water heated by the sun are similarly finished with floor mosaics of local river pebbles and a floor to ceiling glass window separating you from another view of the Abercrombie River Valley and the distant Great Dividing Range. Another shared area above the camp kitchen on the hill is a fire pit and seating area. Other things to note We have tried to make the area as safe as possible without interfering with the incredible natural beauty of the area. Care should be taken to never leave the paths or climb on the walls or over fences. Vehicles should never leave the road or the parking lot. Registration Details Exempt
