Description

Beautiful detached mudbrick studio on 6 acres just 12 min from central Bendigo. Boutique amenities include quality linen, towels, air-conditioning/heating, wi-fi, Netflix, onsite parking, bathroom with shower products for up to two people with the iconic O’Keefe Rail Trail walking track at your back gate. Kitchenette includes fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and all cutlery/crockery. Explore the region’s world-class wineries and local produce or just relax in the property’s iconic Australian bush. The space Nestled on six acres of beautiful iconic Australian bush, this unique mudbrick studio was built by the original owner as a studio for his artist wife. Designed to complement the style of the main Victorian homestead home, the studio is positioned to make full use of the natural light. A simple and sustainable yet stylish design, the studio is constructed using large reclaimed red gum sleepers originally milled from sections of the old wharf on the Murray river in Echuca. You can see the natural waves of character in the stunning old timber from as far back as the 1800s. The mudbricks were made here on the property and rendered and lime-washed inside. You can even see some initials of the original owners marked during construction! The wide array of built-in windows was designed to capture good, true light to support the artistic process. To honour both the original eclectic style of the artist in her studio and our values of environmental sustainability, we have re-styled the studio in a rustic and up-cycled way while also incorporating a boutique experience. To support and showcase our region, we use quality local products and features wherever possible. Other things to note Smoke and vape-free inside. Portable cot available on request (no charge). We share our bush setting home with native animals such as micro bats, tuans (small Australian Marsupial), frogs, and the like which means it is quite normal for animals to sometimes move around outside the studio area. The studio is fully sealed so animals can’t get in and the impact is very low but it may mean that you hear some scratchings around outside on occasion. It is unlikely you will see most of them even if you are outside. Most people barely notice but others may be a little more sensitive to these noises if you don’t know what they are. We use humane ways to try and keep animals away from the immediate studio area so you may not even experience these noises during your visit.
