Description
Montegrilli is a historic villa dating from the 13th century. It has recently been restored to combine the best of old and new.There's a large lounge, dining-room, library and kitchen on the ground floor and 7 bedrooms. Outside there are terraces, garden and a pool. The villa is located conveniently close to the shops and amenities of Monteroni D’Arbia. It's just a short drive to Siena or to the Brunello winelands of Montalcino. The space The ground floor of the villa has light and airy reception rooms that open onto terraces with barbecues, ideal for watching the sunset. The farmhouse kitchen has two Smeg ovens. The dining room is set up for 6 guests, but the table arrangement can be changed to accommodate 12 people, or even more in the lounge. The lounge sofas are white, but they're Scotchguarded, and we provide loads of throws so you don't have to tiptoe round things. There's a full bathroom downstairs and 2 cloakrooms. In the villa, sleeps 16, in doubles or singles, as required. And each bedroom has a bathroom. The rooms are divided into: Two suites with dressing rooms. Those suites include two bedrooms, and one of which has a mezzanine. The one with the mezzanine has a kitchenette and 4 single sofa beds that can be pushed together to make single double bed. So four people can sleep in this bedroom. Two more spacious bedrooms. One more little bedroom with a sofa-bed. Additional beds or cots for children can be provided and all the double beds can be changed to singles and vice-versa. The showers in the bathrooms have both rain-shower heads and height-adjustable hand-held heads. All the showers are spacious. In spring and early summer, the grounds of the villa are full of wild flowers that attract hundreds of butterflies. Guests can pick fruit from the trees. Early risers can spot deer, hares, and even porcupines. There's a 10m x 5m salt-water pool and a paddling pool for children. Games, toys and bikes (free of charge) are provided. The villa's 360° views of unspoilt Tuscan scenery encompass the picturesque village of Radi in the west, and Monte Amiato to the south. On a clear day, the towering fortifications of Castiglione D'Orcia and Rocca D'Orcia are visible in the distance. The south terrace is the ideal spot to watch the sun go down. Air-conditioning and heating are provided free of charge, on a timer basis. If guests wish to extend the hours of the timer, we charge an additional €25 per day. All rooms have wi-fi. We do not provide breakfast, dining or housekeeping, but these services are available through third parties and we can put you in touch with service providers we trust. We allow parties, but only for the guests sleeping at the villa. Please discuss bigger events with us beforehand. There will be an extra fee and we will also ask for a deposit to cover damage. We have 4 children's and 4 adult's bikes. Guest access Guests can access the entire villa, grounds and pool except the fenced off area around the old ruin. This is fenced off for guests' own safety. Other things to note Florence airport is 1hr 15mins away. Pisa and Perugia airports are 2 hours away Registration Details I applied for a CIN, but haven’t received it yet
