You’ll find Bayscapes just outside the coastal town of Fish Hoek, some 40 drive on the southern peninsula south of Cape Town. Bayscapes is a seaside holiday house enjoying glorious uninterrupted views of False Bay. A short drive away are the beautiful towns of Kalk Bay and Simonstown (penguins). The space Bayscapes features fabulous vantage points from the sea facing rooms. It is lovingly furnished with handpicked pieces from far and wide. It can accommodate 6 people in three bedrooms. The living room, dinning room and kitchen are open plan with a fireplace for chilly nights. The main ensuite features a fourposter queen bed, with ensuite shower and toilet. The second bedroom has a queen bed. The third room features two single beds and is located next to the family bathroom. On the sun kissed deck you can lounge next to the pool and look out over the ocean with a book, barbeque with the family, or simply enjoy sundowers. The kitchen offers a wide 90cm gas cooker and electric oven, with double door fridge freezer, dispensing cold water, and crushed ice cubes for those must have sundowners. The house has a dishwasher and washing machine. It is serviced weekly. It can be serviced more often by arrangement at an additional fee. All utensils for cooking, eating and drinking are provided, as are linen and bath towels. Guests should bring their own beach and pool towels. Please note that the hot tub/ jacuzzi is not operational. Although the beach is just a walk away, a car is necessary for visiting nearby towns, sights, and the city. The public transport system is not well developed in this area. The pool is not gated and there are some winding steps leading to the house, which may not be ideal for families with very young children that can not swim, or the elderly. Guest access The main house, with views for Africa, and exclusive use of the terrace and swimming pool. Please note that on a lower level is a separate flat which is occupied by a full time tenant. This flat has a separate access. The cleaner (Jennifer and husband Standford) live in separate accommodation behind the house. One of our cars in permanently parked in the garage, however. Guests will have exclusive use of the area infront of the garage to park. Winding stairs lead to the main house and although there is a funicular it is not always operational, and therefore not included as a feature. The pool is not gated off from the house so it is not really suitable for toddlers or very elderly/ unfit. Toddlers would need to be under constant supervision outside the house, because of the stairs and swimming pool. Guests use the facilities at their own risk. Other things to note No indoor smoking. Potentially dangerous for very young children and the elderly given the steep stairs. The swimming pool is not gated and therefore all children that swim would need to be supervised at all times outside. The house is only serviced/ cleaned once a week on a Saturday. Please notify me of any overnights guests (not booked) or more than a few day visitors. With respect to the tenant in the neighboring unit, parties are strictly not allowed.
