On The Mekong Rural Property: A Village Home

This is a clean and peaceful property. More than 80% of the property is green space & vegetable gardens. We focus on kindness, gentility, and broad smiles. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. Staff are friendly. We have a very large public school next to our property on the east, and a Buddhist Temple adjoining our property on the west. It can get quite noisy when school is in session. Please message us with any questions you might have, and welcome to our rural village. During your stay I am the property owner, and I live at ON THE MEKONG RESORT most of the year. I also have unique properties in Thailand and Myanmar which I visit from time to time. ON THE MEKONG RESORT has a full-time, resident General Manager, and more than half of our staff live on the large property we have right on The Mekong. The team that runs the property is a happy, kind, and thoughtful bunch, and guests love the comfortable, family feel of the resort. When I am at the property, I always look forward to welcoming guests and helping with local planning. When I am not on site, our General Manager and his cheerful team are ready to assist you in any way possible. Other things to note Our property adjoins the Baan Khoy Temple, called Vat Baan Khoy. The monks ring the morning bells for about one minute each day around 5am before they begin their walk to collect alms. We also have some resident roosters who sporadically sound off around sunrise. And we have a large and sometimes noisy elementary school nearby the property - young Lao children start to arrive at school at 7am and they laugh and run and play. These are the normal, happy sounds of a real village, but it can get quite loud while school is in session. If you are terribly bothered by monks, roosters, or young Lao kids messing around before school, our place may not suit you. Lao is an early to bed / early to rise country. We hope you enjoy the sounds and rhythm of our village. It's the real deal, and it has real deal sounds too!
