Chalet Liosa, Corvara, embodies the quintessence of a traditional Dolomites chalet, providing a warm and homey atmosphere. Situated on Corvara's finest and sunniest side, it offers Ski In & Ski Out access to the Sellaronda and Dolomiti Superski, unparalleled vistas of the Dolomites, and an oasis of nature, all within walking distance from the town (700 mt). The space --A BIT OF HISTORY-- Chalet Liosa was built by my grandmother Carola Nani Mocenigo in 1960 when Corvara was still an unknown village high up in the mountains. Carola was the last descendant of the noble family Nani Mocenigo from Venice and was the first alpine woman climber of her time. She sponsored the Italian expedition to conquer K2 (Himalaya) in XXX, and two peaks were named after her and her sister Elena, Torre Carola and Torre Elena respectively, after their first ascent. Carola fell in love with Corvara and the Dolomites, bought this land, and built Chalet Liosa for her large family of 8 children. Ever since, it has been our family holiday retreat for four generations. Chalet Liosa is the ideal solution for guests looking for a true family home (unlike most anonymous Airbnb homes where nobody actually lives), combining tradition and modernity, generous space, modern comforts, and of course, the best location possible. --LIVING SPACE-- Penthouse Sassongher features 120 m2 of living space, plus a 10 m2 balcony. It features: - 2 master bedrooms with one ensuite bathroom each - 1 bedroom with two bunk beds - 1 more bathroom - 1 living room with an open kitchen - 1 laundry room - 1 balcony. The two master bedrooms are generous and have ensuite bathrooms and walk-in closets. Both are finely decorated with weathered old wood and antique furniture. The bedroom facing west has a floor-to-ceiling window with magnificent views of the Sellaronda, Passo Gardena, and Sassongher. The other bedroom has one large window and a ceiling window, offering plenty of light. The bedroom with two bunk beds sleeps 4, with adult-sized beds and mattresses. The independent large bathroom serves the bunk bed room. The spacious living room has a large floor-to-ceiling window with the best views of the Dolomites and the village of Corvara, along with two more windows on the south side towards Sella Group and Piz Boe. The kitchen is open to the living room and fully equipped (fridge, freezer, oven, microwave, induction stove, dishwasher, mixer, bread heater). The table can accommodate 10 people easily or 12 more cozily. In the center, an eco-friendly and kid-safe fireplace powered by electricity from renewable resource, water steam, and optional fireplace crackling sound. The long balcony facing south and west offers an unlimited view of the Dolomites and the famous "enrosadira," when the Dolomites' rocky mountains turn pink and orange at sunrise and sunset. The laundry room is private to the Penthouse Sassongher and contains a washing machine and a dryer. --COMMON AREAS-- On the ground floor, there is a ski room with a boot dryer and glove dryer. The garden is an oasis of nature, a terrace overlooking the mountains, facing south-southwest and sunny throughout the day. Thanks to the slightly elevated position of Chalet Liosa compared to the village, it receives one more hour of direct sunlight at sunset compared to the village at the bottom of the valley.
