Enjoy a small farm stay! We have the best of both worlds here in Corbett. The breathtaking Columbia River Gorge is less than 3 miles up the road and the city of Portland is about a 30 minute drive. We are about 15 minutes from amazing waterfall hikes, fishing, 1 hour from skiing, class 3/4 river rafting, kite boarding, and wind surfing in the gorge.... and just about 1.5 hours from the beautiful Oregon Coast. You can hike the Pacific Crest Trail- only 30 minutes from our home. Come enjoy! We have implemented an enhanced cleaning/disinfecting protocol. It is a top priority of ours- over and above the super cleaning we do in-between each set of guests. Check-in time is anytime after 3 pm. If you are enjoying your day out hiking in and enjoying the gorge, exploring Portland or whatever and need a later time to check-in, we are very flexible for late check-ins. We have social distancing/self-check in. You'll enter your private space and have the entire bottom floor all to yourselves. Super comfortable queen size bed with private bathroom (shower). Relax here on the two large couches with a flat screen TV and Netflix. 6 large windows and a glass slider door looking out over our 5 acre pasture. It also has a small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. Linens, soap, and shampoo are also provided. Also, has A/C and heat. Private living area is approx. 800 square feet. After deep cleaning, I personally sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob with cleaners and disinfectants, wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination, clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists. In addition, I provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay. I comply with local laws. If you have more than two in your party, we have an extremely comfortable sofa couch/bed- queen size, with a Sealy foam mattress- high quality. You'll be sure to get a great night's sleep. $20 extra person charge after 2nd people (extra linen/towels, laundry, water, electricity, extra cleaning, supplies, etc.). If you enjoy fishing, the Sandy River is just down the road from us. You can catch salmon and steel head. We're happy to lend you our BBQ when you return with your catch! Just 15-20 minutes from here is the town of Gresham. Its population is just over 100K. The downtown has some really great restaurants, grocery stores, and cool shops. You can also go on a 20 mile bike ride from Gresham to downtown Portland. It's one long, well maintained bike/walking path. Even closer, less than 15 minutes away, is the quaint, old town of Troutdale. It's population is just over 16K. The downtown has some great restaurants, fun antique stores, and an outlet mall. Less than a mile from there is a major outdoor concert venue that's mainly operational in the summer time. Past performers include Adele, Heart, Bob Dylan, Fun, Willie Nelson, The Pretenders, Sugarland, Norah Jones, Steve Miller, ZZ Top, Tony Bennett, Michael Franti, Train, Jack Johnson, and many others. Leaving here to the I-84 on-ramp is about 10 minutes. A 30 minute drive to the west on I-84 will take you to downtown Portland or heading east takes you to the scenic Columbia River Gorge. Also, the airport is 25 minutes away. Portland offers diverse cultural experiences- awesome restaurants, entertainment (plays, concerts, etc.) great stores and charming neighborhoods. Very bike friendly! The Columbia River Gorge offers many unbelievable hiking trails (many with waterfalls), river rafting, kite boarding and wind surfing. Skiing is about an hour drive from here on Mt. Hood. ( Timberline, Mt. Hood Meadows and Mt. Hood Skibowl). Skibowl has the largest night skiing terrain in the country. Once you are booked, we would be happy to send out information about the area- local secrets, hiking trail maps, best places to eat nearby, etc. Our past guests have shared that this info has been extremely helpful and so appreciated as they plan their itinerary here to get the most out of the Columbia River Gorge area. Come enjoy! From the driveway you access the daylight basement by going down the spiral staircase or the stone steps. If the spiral staircase is not for you, you can go down stone steps with a railing about 20' from the spiral staircase. There is also another another entry through the backyard. You have an entire patio with picnic table and large grass area to yourselves. As you come up our driveway, please park on the LEFT, next to the ROCK birdbath. After parking, walk onto grass and LEFT down the rock stairs with the wood handrail, behind the large Hazelnut tree. For night-time, there is a motion censored light comes on for the stairs. Even before you arrive, we are available to let you know, and answer questions, about the great Northwest! We'll have as much or little interaction as you need/want. Two charming, small, country stores are within 3 miles (Corbett Country Market & Glen Irvin Country Market). Corbett Country Market has small deli with delicious pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, homemade smoked salmon, etc. All of our neighbors have about 5-50 acres.... peaceful and lots of space. Access to I-84 within 10 minutes. Downtown Portland about 30 minutes. We are at the west end of the Columbia River Gorge. Gresham/Troutdale area within 15-20 minutes. There is a Verizon tower right up the road- great coverage. Other cell phone service in this area is spotty. We do have Wi-Fi for you to use while you're here.
