Description
This is a highly sought after lovely CLEAN, QUIET, PRIVATE coach (carriage) house converted to a one bedroom stand-alone flat in a private garden in beautiful Moseley. It has massive double bed (UK King), plus a SMALL double pull out sofa bed. There is FREE on-street parking outside the house on a quiet road, though there is no private parking on the drive. We do offer, for a small fee, EV charging on drive. The space This is a wonderful place to live--fully furnished, quiet, well appointed. It's a great starter flat if you are just starting out or looking for a professional spacious fully furnished flat. It is perfect for one or two for a longer stay, cosy for 4 for shorter stays and sardine-like for 6 but totally doable for short stays. It is not recommended for more than 2 guests for longer than a weekend. It only has sofa and dining seating for two. However, it would work for friends to pile in for a weekend (max 6--very tight) but not recommended to stay for more than a couple days with that number of people. It is fairly child friendly and opens to the back garden which has been described as a child's dream garden--trampoline, a path, grass, football pitch. It has a 2nd downstairs toilet which is a converted garden toilet--so it is clean and secure and available as an extra toilet connected to the coach house, but it is unheated. (Note if a starter flat, there is very limited storage space and fully furnished, so please travel light. If you have large cases, we can store those in our main house for you during your stay to avoid them being underfoot. Guest access You will have full use of the coach house, private terrace and garden. The garden is shared with the main house but is spacious and beautiful. Your view from your living room is of roses, a wooden bridge and lovely greenery. Please note this is a fully non-smoking space. We prefer to not host smokers as the smell of smoke could linger for future guests. Other things to note You are also welcome to use our American sized washer/dryer to refresh your laundry if you are travelling. We have a number of guidebooks and can recommend insider tips for touring the Midlands. We do recycle and provide as a separate receptacle for you to use while you are with us. Should you wish to recycle, you may leave your plastics/papers/metals in the kitchen pantry (double doors across from back door in kitchen) or put them directly in the blue-lidded bins on the front drive. Rubbish goes out every Thursday night for Friday collection, and Recycling goes every other Friday. If you need any lightbulbs or repairs done in your space during your stay, simply get in touch. We want to ensure things are fixed right away. We do have foxes and the odd hedgehog in our garden from time to time which can trigger the security lights. Sometimes this can be alarming, but just be aware that they are just a bit of wildlife in the city. If you need any other kitchen utensils for your time with us, just ask. We try to keep the kitchen stocked with items that you may need, but we are always happy to invest in something else that might make your stay better. Finally, the Coach House is a converted old barn for the horses in for the main house, built in 1889. We converted it in 2008 but were unable to do much with the ceiling height in the shower room. If you are very tall, please be mindful that you may find the shower area a bit fun to work with--the downstairs toilet may be more comfortable for you, but please mind it is unheated as it is technically an outside loo--just made clean and secure for additional space for the Coach House guests. We hope you can find this feature of Coach House living charming. It is a 'shabby chic' experience, and we hope you will enjoy the memories and fun your stay can afford you!
