You can also play videos on your smartphone or work on your computer without stress The space An inn that takes you back 350 years Built in the early Edo period and still used as a residence today, it is a nationally designated important cultural property that is over 350 years old. Under the same conditions, it is the only old private house in the country. The 300-year-old private house has no air conditioning and the important cultural property facility has no ceiling. Enjoy the sounds of birds and insects in the morning and the beautiful starry sky at night. Unfortunately, we do not provide comfortable beds, sofas, or air conditioning, but I think you can experience a realistic rural life in the early Edo period. Especially in winter, it is one of Japan's leading snow areas, so there are days when it is not warm enough even with heating equipment. In that case, we will provide old-fashioned cold protection items such as a brazier and hot water bottle. You can also have a comfortable summer. There is no air conditioning in the house. The inside of the kayabuki house is 7 to 15 degrees lower than the outside air temperature, so we recommend staying in summer. [The "Bakemonozashiki" room that is never opened] There is a room in the back of the house called "Bakemonozashiki". The room is opened once a year (August 13, 14, and 15 every year), but it is forbidden to open the door by custom. This is a room that only residents and those born in our house can enter. Please note that you will not be able to enter even if you are a guest. If you follow the rules, there will be no problems. By the way, some of the people who have stayed in the past have had strange experiences, so look forward to it. Guest access 1Fのみ During your stay [Host is always available to help] The owner of the Suzuki family will be on-site during your stay. In addition to providing support during your stay, we can also explain the historical romance of the Akita Suzuki family, which has continued since the time of Genji Yoshitsune, and guide you to the roots of 2 million Suzuki people nationwide, antique discussions such as the collector Komanri, and local gourmet and sightseeing spots. [Activities | Free Experiences] Support for the maintenance and management of important cultural properties Firewood chopping, grass mowing, cleaning, paper sliding, floor sweeping Snow shoveling, snow removal, garden maintenance, etc. [Activities | Paid Experiences] Tour of the nearby thatched roof house, mowing, mochi pounding (advance booking) Wild vegetable picking, coordination of nearby sightseeing & pick-up Other things to note May 1, 2019 Fuji TV from 7 pm Osamu Hayashi's Japan Drill at our house Thank you for watching. In 2023, my late father 45th head of the family, Mokunosuke (formerly Junji), appeared in the 30th anniversary special of the appraisal team 30th anniversary special. We would appreciate it if you could fill out a questionnaire or provide us with any advice on how we can improve. Because it is a nationally designated important cultural property, there are restrictions on the repair of the Edo period architectural structure. Especially in winter, the room temperature is lower than that of a normal building due to the structure, so we ask you to take measures against the cold. There are no bathing facilities available for guests in the building, but we offer free shuttle service to the hot spring facility, which is about 15 minutes by car. Please do not open the locked room at the back of the building, commonly known as "Bakemonozashiki". Photography is also prohibited.
