The MENDRERIE will enchant you with its calm, its authenticity, its mountain view and the surrounding forest. Not large, it is especially suitable for 2 adults plus a child, spa guests, lovers of calm, nature and perhaps ecology, but not necessarily. Its main asset is the 'calm' and the garden / terrace with flowers and hazelnut and fig tree for shade. We are also proud of our 'Resurgence Festival' in Lodève in July (free outdoor shows), its painting museum and cathedral, and the Festival of Sacred Music at Sylvanès Abbey in Aveyron. It is well equipped and situated in an authentic region rich in natural beauty, old stone houses, but also culturally. A studio-like space (one large room) with one BZ foldeable bed/sofa, one double futon in the mezzanine (up a ladder), all made in wood. A shower corner with shelves, a kitchen corner : 2 electrical rings + induction. and a table for 2; Compost toilets (dry toilets using sawdust) in a separate building, (see picture)about 20 steps away, overlooking the mountain and the stars; one portable WC indoors. Microwave oven, a small oven, and a small TV. The charm of the gite is its wood beams (1850) and original stone look, a bit Zen, easy to keep cool or to heat. The variety of landscapes, the proximity of a buddhist Tibetan temple (Lerab Ling, visited by the Dailai Lama), and the cultural events organised by the Spa Town of Avène made me fall in love with the place. I love to share it. Avène is situated in a preserved region, very hilly and it is the countryside with pigs, sheeps and horses nearby.
