Caminha, The River House Seixas.

Our much-loved family house has breathtaking views across the pool level to the river beyond and Galicia in Spain. Close to beaches, family-friendly activities, lovely old towns with great restaurants and nightlife. The outdoors are perfect to wind down and relax. Seixas is a friendly fishing village right on the Portuguese “Caminho Atlântico” to Santiago de Compostela and an easy one hour reach from Porto airport. We hope you´ll love this magical spot as much as we do! The space The house is situated in a truly unique location on the edge of the lovely River Minho Estuary with far reaching views across to Galicia (Spain) on the other side. The Gerês National Park is a comfortable day trip by car as is Santiago de Compostela. The Spanish fishing villages of "A Guarda" and "Baiona" are less than an hour's drive. You will find great surfing beaches 20 minutes drive from the house (Afife is just one example). The historic portuguese cities of Viana do Castelo, Valença, Braga, Amarante, Barcelos, Ponte de Lima and Guimarães are all viable day trips by car. Porto and it's famous architecture and the unmissable Port Wine Cellars are an easy 50 minutes drive on the motorway towards the south. There is an "Eco-pathway" that runs next to the house that is suitable for jogging and cycling. Kayaking, sailing and wind surfing are all available on the River Minho. The portuguese "Caminho Atlântico" to Santiago passes next to the house and once in a while you will come across pilgrims en route! A comfortable and spacious house with pretty gardens containing a private swimming pool, it is enclosed by high walls and enjoys open views across the pool level to the river beyond. It is very much a family home and has been used regularly by our family during the summer. The house occupies a truly wonderful spot on the water´s edge and the very positive comments left by previous guests in the Guest Book speak for themselves!
