Ara Station

The space Welcome to Ara Station - an unique house on the 'Ara' (pathway in Maori) of the famous Hillary Trail and is built in the style of an old New Zealand railway station. It is set in bush overlooking the expansive sand dunes of lake Wainamu and Te Henga (Bethell's Beach). You can choose one of the two options that best suits your needs-Rent the whole house or stay in the bed and breakfast in the downstairs apartment (see other listing) the whole house consists of 4 bedrooms-3 very spacious with Queen beds and a smaller one with a double bed, 2 bathrooms, two lounges and a fully equipped kitchen, max 7 people The rooms are provided with fresh linen and towels, are decorated with original furniture and all have beautiful views. There is a TV and DVDs, free Wifi and the use of attractive outside areas complete with sun umbrella and charcoal BBQ. This area is a famous film location known for its spectacular scenery and vast array of outdoor activities. Enjoy the tramping tracks, the tranquility of Lake Wainamu, the excitement of the giant sand Dunes, the rugged coastline and surf beaches -all within a short walking distance of Ara Station. I am a well travelled and friendly host who enjoys painting and meeting people. I aim to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and am always available for advice on local attractions or to help with travel plans. Guest access Guests will have full access of garden amenities. Other things to note There are no shops or restaurants nearby so you need to bring your own supplies. Basics like milk, tea, coffee, cooking condiments and oils are supplied. The well known Bethells Beach cafe operates during the summer months.
