The Reading Room
The Reading Room
Description
This antique, quirky room has distant water views of Casco Bay, a day bed with pull out trundle bed and an interesting array of books and art for your browsing pleasure. Books are heavily weighted toward themes of social justice, minority rights, art and poetry. The large arm chair invites guests to linger, relax, read and enjoy the relative tranquility of a room in a historic Victorian home. The space This second floor bedroom is one of three guest rooms in the Captain Morrill House. Each room is quite unique and "funky" but clean and welcoming. Guests share one bathroom. In case of a bathroom emergency, there is a small second bathroom on the first floor used primarily by the owner/host. Guest access Walking is encouraged in Harpswell! Thanks to the efforts of the Harpswell Heritage Land Trust there are numerous trails throughout the community for all to enjoy. Be sure to checkout the HHLT.org website for trail suggestions. During your stay I am a host who enjoys interacting with my guests and welcomes conversation, sharing stories of travel adventures and if time allows, sitting on the front or back porch sharing a glass of wine or cup of tea or coffee. Other things to note Whenever the weather and my schedule allows, I like to invite guests to join me on the rooftop viewing platform. Guests who are unafraid of heights often report that such a viewing experience is truly a highlight of their stay.
