In addition to its natural edge it has been at the very hub of historical events with neighbouring fields accommodating ring forts, neolithic tombs, waters sailed on by vessels that participated in the Spanish armada and on the beach at the foot of our land (near cove 2) a B-17 flying fortress crashed and submerged in the sands during 1944 (all survived).
