The Mountain Farmhouse is located within close proximity to the Ski Resorts of; Mt Hotham (30min), Dinner Plain (20min) and just 20 minutes from the historical township of Omeo. Ideally located halfway along the Great Alpine Road for those making the iconic journey along this scenic route. The Farmhouse is situated on a 2300 acre family Cattle and Sheep farm alongside the Victoria River, making this the true High Country experience. The space The Mountain Farmhouse is secluded yet within easy reach of the nearby towns and villages allowing guests to enjoy a unique experience. Whether it be star gazing at night or waking up to Cattle and sheep grazing outside your window on a frosty morning. Relaxing by the River or hitting the slopes on a Snowboard. Self Contained & recently renovated with all the character of an original farmhouse, your peace and quiet is assured. Well suited to families or larger groups up to 8 people. Note that bedrooms 2 and 3 can be closed off to make the Mountain Farmhouse just as cozy and charming for couples or smaller groups and is priced accordingly. The Great Alpine Road from the Omeo side of the mountain is very rarely closed and generally has far less traffic and snow on the road than commuting from Harrietville making it a much easier alternative in Winter. Guest access Guests have the entire house and yard to themselves. The Victoria River runs through our property. Famous for its trout fishing and perfect for summer picnics and swimming in the pristine mountain stream. Other things to note Please be aware that the house is located 2.5km off the Great Alpine Road, down a dirt road on a working farm. There is limited phone coverage (telstra only) and no WiFi.
