Cottage on the Wilts/Somerset border - Near Bath

Number 16 is a cosy C19 cottage that sleeps 4 adults, plus a baby/infant in 2 bedrooms, 1 king + 1 double. Located in Wingfield village, with a popular pub to walk to, it’s ideal for exploring Bath, Bradford on Avon, and Longleat Safari Park. Nearby train stations offer easy access to Bath. The cottage has central heating. We welcome up to 2 well-behaved dogs (no cats), with gardens at the front and back. Parking for 2 cars is available, and I look forward to offering all guests a warm welcome. The space Number 16 Loves Lane — A Cosy 1800s Bath-Stone Cottage. Originally two workers’ cottages, it has been thoughtfully combined into one welcoming home. Sleeping up to four guests plus an infant, it’s perfect for couples, friends, or small families. A travel cot and highchair are provided. Kitchen & Dining The spacious kitchen–dining area is fully equipped with everything you need for relaxed meals at home, including a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven, induction hob, Nespresso machine, toaster, and microwave. The dining area retains its original flagstone flooring, while the kitchen has wood floors. With generous cupboard space and worktops, it’s ideal for longer stays. The front window overlooks a pretty cottage garden, and the stable door opens directly onto the peaceful back garden. Sitting Room The cosy sitting room features wood flooring, a comfortable four-seater sofa, an armchair, and a TV/DVD player. A wood-burning stove adds warmth and atmosphere; we provide complimentary logs and kindling for your first fire, with additional supplies available to purchase or you're welcome to bring your own. Bathroom Upstairs, the bathroom is bright and well appointed, with a bath and handheld shower, a separate shower cubicle, basin, and toilet. Bramley toiletries are supplied. Bedrooms There are two inviting bedrooms: One with an antique brass double bed The other with a king-size bed with an Eve mattress Both rooms are furnished with crisp cotton linens, vintage wool rugs, and hot water bottles for cooler nights. One bedroom includes a wardrobe, while the other offers a chest of drawers. The travel cot can be set up in either bedroom or in the snug. Snug A small, peaceful snug upstairs provides an armchair and a selection of books — an ideal spot for reading or quiet time. Extras & Practicalities Your comfort is our priority. Number 16 is decorated throughout with Farrow & Ball and Mylands paints and benefits from electric central heating. All bed linen, towels, and tea towels are included. If you’d like to enjoy wild swimming at the popular Farleigh Hungerford River Swimming Club, we can supply extra towels and our membership card during the appropriate months. There is also a handy outside loo — perfect when dining in the garden or returning from a countryside walk. The washing machine is located in a brick outbuilding in the rear garden. Outside, you’ll find: A table and chairs for al fresco dining Two wooden recliners A charcoal barbecue and a fire pit Cottage gardens, stuffed with shrubs and plants, at both the front and back Parking for two cars is available in tandem at the rear of the cottage, with access through both the front and back gardens. Location: Wingfield Village Wingfield is a peaceful village close to Bath and Bradford on Avon. It's within walking distance of The Poplars, a popular and dog-friendly village pub, as well as the local church and school. While there are no shops in the village, a supermarket is just a five-minute drive away in Bradford on Avon, and Trowbridge offers several more options. There are lots of good places to eat in Bradford on Avon, the gorgeous small town just 5 minutes by car. Guest access The whole cottage is available with parking for 2 cars at the back of the property. There are pretty, cottage gardens to the front and back with garden furniture when the weather is appropriate. Other things to note 2 well behaved dogs allowed, but dogs are not to be left on their own in the property. No dogs on furniture or upstairs please. No other pets allowed.
