Description

Our home stay, situated in beautiful village Parule, on konkan coast and in sindhudurg district of Maharashtra, offers lovely tropical paradise away from all the hustle bustle of the cities. The Cottages are conceptualized as Maachli which is regional term for the huts made by the farmers to protect the crop. The cottages are tucked away in a very dense plantation, situated very close to the Jungle thus offer abundant, rich, pollution free and healthy environment for the Nature lovers. The space We have a dense plantation of coconut, bettlenut, banana, mango and spices.there is a beautifull water stream that flows through the farm.so its an opportunity to live in micro climate where overall the feel of the place is distinctly different from the climate outside. The huts mimic traditional maachlis. We have used a cross ventilation technique by putting stainless steel net from all the sides. The artifacts are used like wooden hangers, soap cases, copper jars bucket, the joinery of the roof is all attributed to local traditional essence of the place and vernacular architecture..we have used local artisan to build Maachlis We serve ethnic Malvani Saraswat cuisine where we strive to promote old forgotten recipes. The food is cooked on woodfire and served in earthern pots..My mother herself take care of the kitchen. The whole family is involved in the venture. We have no reception. We ourselves welcome our guests and accompany them to their respective cottages.. We have strong measures for sustainable tourism. women empowerment where 90% of the total staff is women.Every year we implement water conservation of the stream where we put a small dam on the stream. We have a put a bettlenut trunks bridge over a stream which helps villagers. We have planted close to 1000 trees in last 5 years. So the combination of all these factors make Maachli unique. Other things to note 1. Walk from parking place to the entrance is roughly 200 meters on uneven surface. Guests have to cross a betel-nut trunks bridge over a beautiful water stream. Hence guests are requested to carry minimum required baggage. 2. Mobile network is not guaranteed however guests can use host land line if required. Television and Internet is avoided in order to maintain seclusion and enhance relationship with the nature. 3. The cottages are designed innovatively by using cross ventilation technique and surrounded by the thick plantation which rules out requirement of Air conditioner. . 4. We do not allow pets. 5. We do not offer room service and no eatables are allowed to be eaten in the cottage Since cottages are located in plantation area there are chances of entry of ants, rats to eat residue or leftover. Eatables can be eaten in the dining area. 6. We do not serve alcohol or have MRP counter (for chips, beverages etc). 7. We have fixed menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 8. We are situated in very dense plantation, very close to the Jungle thus live in abundant, rich and healthy eco system. So you may encounter snakes or other insects(mosquito etc).. Essential to carry 1. Guests are requested to carry Photo ID proof, floaters, sunglasses, hat, rainwear, torches etc. 2. Please carry your own towels for beach use. 3. Please carry Mosquito repellent and medicine if any.
