We are a purpose built accommodation, with quality furnishings & fittings, along with a private entrance. The entire ground floor is yours, exclusively. Pricing includes a generous continental breakfast and quality linen. We live on site, and provide extra assistant if needed. We are an 8 minute walk to the Lyttelton ferry, very close to our cafe, walking/biking tracks and beaches. Also a 5 minute drive to Orton Bradley Park, & Golfcourse. We know you will love your stay at Magnolia Cottage. The space Your ground floor suite consists of a private entrance to your foyer, private bathroom with bath and separate shower, as well as a separate toilet with basin. There is one standard queen bedroom and a private lounge /dining room which has a comfortable sofa bed with a good mattress topper. Magnolia Cottage can offer lots of local knowledge, to explore and really maximise the area. We have easy access to other bays including Akaroa. A lot of our guests day trip there, in under an hour's drive. Only an hour's drive to Christchurch airport, makes Magnolia Cottage a good first or last night stay, in the South Island. With just an 8 minute walk to the local ferry, you can also discover the Port town of Lyttelton, (only a few minutes on the boat). We only take one booking at a time, to ensure your exclusive use of the ground floor suite and garden. There are some lovely spots in our tranquil garden where you can curl up with a book, many here to chose from, or a good selection of DVD's, for a cooler day. The terrace or garden are great to enjoy a quiet glass of wine, and weather permitting, we always try to serve breakfast in the garden, for a lovely start to your day. Guest access The beauty of Magonlia Cottage is that you can have your own space with an entrance of your own, which makes it easy to slip in and out as you please, the entire downstairs is yours! If you would like to view the beautiful harbour feel free to use the sunny upstairs deck. During your stay We have travelled extensively and love to meet people from all over the world. We love to share our experiences and swap stories, favourite spots, food and travel plans. Some guests have made plans to meet up with us in Europe. We recently enjoyed a 4 month trip through Canada, Iceland, Scandinavia, France and Italy. An amazing experience and lots of interaction with lovely people. Then 6 weeks in Vietnam and Cambodia allowed us a different aspect of the globe. We are happy to chat, and give you some insight and recommendations for the surrounding area. Both my husband and I were born in the Lyttelton Harbour basin. My family have been here for several generations heavily involved in the commercial fishing industry, and waterfront activities.
