Nestled like a green jewel in the waters of the Adriatic Sea, Mrcara stands as a testament to the raw and unspoiled beauty of the Mediterranean. Its ability to inspire a sense of tranquillity is the true magic of the Island. There are no calls or emails to disturb the harmony. So welcome to your luxurious stay. Why luxurious? Because the only sound you'll hear is the sound of nature, birds during the day, waves during the night. Can it get more luxury than this? This is your vacation sanctuary. The space Unique place for romantic holiday. 'Me' time oasis. These are just the words some of our guests use to describe the place, but the feeling, how to express the feeling? You'll have to find out yourself. But before you do, please read below what to expect once you've arrived. You're coming to an uninhabited island. Hosts are welcoming you, led by Samoyed dog Jozo, ignored by the cats, Peggy & Tiho. We're offering you refreshing drinks to give you some time to soak up the atmosphere and energy, take your time. It is obvious the Island has nothing but a beach restaurant. You're right. There's no store, bar, pharmacy, gas station... It's something to think about prior to your arrival, especially if you require some meds, protections, special dietary requirements. Going to your cottage can be a short, 70 meter, walk followed by 20 m hiking trail :) or you can chose to take 20 stairs followed by 40 m forest path. Worry not about the creatures welcoming you around and in the cottage, spiders, lizards.. all are harmless, they just want to say hello to their new roommates. The accommodation is 15 m2 room with washroom. It's all you'll be needing in the next several days, as you will probably enjoy sun, sea, beach, forest, hiking, kayaking, sunbathing, eating! Yes, there's food. There's a possibility not to book a half-board, but we strongly recommend you do if staying more than 2, 3 nights. The section 'Other things to note' is explaining in details what the half-board options are. Guest access Enjoy exploring the island, there are no restricted areas. Go for a walk, hike, across the island to visit our unique beach. Relive the history while visiting abandoned military base. There are, of course, private rooms, other occupied accommodation units and restaurant kitchen, that are a no entry zone. Other things to note TRANSFERS Your trip to our island starts from Split or Dubrovnik . Please make sure to book the ticket from Split (or Korcula) on Jadrolinija web site in case of coming by ferry & from Dubrovnik (Sipan, Sobra, Polace) & Split (or Hvar) on TP line web site if coming by catamaran. Please note we are arranging your transfer to the Island for the arrivals/departures 06h - 21h, for the arrival/departures beyond mentioned, please make sure you've booked Ubli - Mrcara and vice versa transfer (or plan additional night in the destionation of arrival/departure airport). Trip to Mrcara is usually an adventurous rib boat ride of less than 10 min. You've now reached your vacation destination. ACCOMMODATION This kind of tourism is called Robinson's, which means basic only. Hopefully you do not expect luxury 5 star hotel, air condition, TV... Island has no electricity but the solar power so there is no power supply in the cottage, only rechargeable or battery lights. All you electric equipment can be charged at the restaurant. Be aware that you are coming to the uninhabited island away of civilization, where we live in the Nature with the Nature, so you can expect to meet all kinds of animals such as goats or sheep, rabbits, lizards, forest mice, squirrels, mosquitos or wasps, etc... but there are NO wild or poisonous animals, so enjoy nature without any fear. FOOD Since there is no kitchen in the cottage, food can't be prepared on your own so we are offering half-board service, breakfast and dinner. Half-board price is 65€/person/day. Be advised, half-board price is EXTRA FEE. Our cook Ojdana will make such a delicious dish, you'll forget all your worries :) Our ingredients are fresh and local, store bought as little as necessary. Breakfast - coffee, tea, yoghurt, milk, juice, jam, butter, paté, nutella, cereal, eggs, ham, cheese, fruit. Breakfast is served from 9 AM (closes 11 AM) as a semi-buffet style at a social table, so try not to be late ;) Dinner (Chef's choice) - starter, usually some home prepared Dalmatian dish with pasta or rice, main, mostly fish, sometimes meat with side-dishes. Included in the rate - one drink per person (glass of beer or wine). It is usually served at 6 PM. IMPORTANT - for special dietary requirements (food allergies, preferences) please check before booking! Taking into consideration Lastovo island is the most remote offshore island, there are no variety of groceries in the store and the vegetables section is usually limited to the goods the locals are masters of - potato, tomato, eggplant, zucchini, squash, onions. This means we can't accommodate your preferences at any time, or it might cause surcharge as any special grocery must arrive from Split and it can take days. THINGS TO DO To spice up your holidays with some extra activities, please use our kayaks or snorkelling equipment, it is all free of charge. We can assist with booking organized tours from Lastovo island. Some of the most attractive ones are boat trips to sandy island Saplun or fishing trip to Susac island. Land trips are usually military tour with tasting, or you can just rent a bike or scooter and hit the road. And there is of course the option of staying at the island for the entire time, take the best out of the several day vacation and go for swim every available moment, there's no waters like these. Sunbathing can also be considered as activity, especially if you take a book from our improvised library :) RULES The most important rule concerns fire! We are terrified of fire and are trying to do everything to avoid it. This is why our cottages aren't equipped with cooking devices and you're not welcome to bring it yourself. Unfortunately we absolutely must forbid using any types of cooking and/or gas devices. You're also not allowed to fire mosquito coil (spiral smoking mosquito repellent). Smoking isn't allowed in the house or around it, while vaping is allowed outside the house. Our strict rules regarding anything that burns are unfortunately a result of careless people starting fires from year to year (luckily not on our little paradise, but all over coastal Croatia). Please note we will be forced to cancel your reservation, in case of breaking this rule, without refund. Second most important rule is - saving water. Please consider the necessity of using water before running it. We have rather small tanks that need to provide water for entire 6 months living on the island and summers are very dry. Every drop you can save is a blessing :) and we thank you <3 Coming/Leaving - Our check in time follows the catamaran/ferry arrivals to island of Lastovo, but if we are available and the cottage is ready to host you, it can be at any time. Check out is also very flexible, usually next guests aren't checking in on the same day (please check this prior to booking), but with one important exception, we only cover daily catamaran/ferry arrivals/departures from Lastovo, no night transfers (anything arriving to Lastovo after 9 PM or departing before 6 AM). Please keep this in mind when booking off-season period as daily ferry doesn't operate every day. Please note we can't make exceptions and if it can't be adjusted to your arrival/departure flights, consider another night in Split/Dubrovnik. Pets - we love and welcome them. But unless you're absolutely sure your pets get along with other dogs (Samoyed) and especially cats, please don't bring them along. We will be in a very unpleasant position to warn you about the pet if not well behaved. Also, please consider while in restaurant area and beach surroundings, dogs need to be on the leash (this is especially applied to walking the dog for potty, please avoid restaurant area, no territory marking).
