This cozy 1100 SF home is a perfect getaway to unwind, located just two hours from Manhattan. The space Hillcrest Cottage is nicely appointed in a minimal yet comfortable Scandinavian style with country accents. It offers the right amount of disconnect like a country house should be but still offers some staples such as WiFi and cell reception. The open plan living room and kitchen are oriented toward the quiet country road overlooking the rolling farmland and pond beyond. A newly added dining room at the rear of the house looks over the adjacent farmland through a large picture window. The design aficionado will appreciate the use of space and selection of décor throughout the house. The shared bathroom is located downstairs and has a bath/shower. Follow the stairs up through a map-lined hallway to find two tidy, whitewashed bedrooms -- one queen and one full. There's also a pullout sofa that can accommodate two extra guests. Back outside, enjoy the evening fireside while lounging in the Adirondack chairs, telling stories all night and roasting marshmallows for smores. On a chilly evening, take a dip in the new 6 person hot tub and relax while you stargaze. Pro tip: turn off all the lights to see the band of Milky Way stars. Weather permitting, enjoy a meal outdoors on the picnic table. Or grab a glass of wine, spin some records and then head out for a dinner you won't soon forget at the nearby North Branch Inn. The cottage is very close to antique stores in Bethel, Livingston Manor, Narrowsburg, Jeffersonville, Callicoon, and Liberty. The cottage is in Sullivan County close to State Roads 52 and 17 — both off of I87 with easy access from NYC. Having a car will be ideal for your trip. Guest access You have full reign of the place during your stay. We ask that you limit going down to the basement only as necessary. Feel free to use the backyard and picnic table and grill. Please be cautious of nature as ticks and poison ivy can lurk around the premise. For use of the hot tub please abide by our rules.
