Wonderfull view of the famous snow peaks

Family friendly apartment is in a house my great grandfather build in the year 1900. The house has since then been split up in three appartments, one of which we keep for vacations for our family and - for you. The appartment has the charm of an old, traditional wooden chalet, lovingly cared for and regularly updated by each generation. Gsteigwiler is a beautiful little village in the famous Jungfrau-region. It is only a few minutes outside of Interlaken with all its tourist attractions. The space The special charm of our place is the combination of old and new. You will find our family tree dating back to 1658 in the living room and a modern kitchen with fridge, stove, oven, steamer and diswasher build in 2012. The appartment is fully furnished to suit your needs during your stay. The bedroom has two separat beds forming a double bed and a bunk bed, a wardrobe as well as some drawers. The kitchen has all appliances and is fully equiped for cooking. There is a nespresso coffee machine, a soda club, a toaster, a raclett machine as well as a fondue recheau. Towls are also provided. In summer, autumn and spring the region offers beautiful hikes. There is a wide range of different attractions and sports you can do in the area. By car or by bus (free bus to Interlaken with our guest card) you can reach famous destinations like Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen and the Jungfraujoch (Top of Europe) in about 30 minutes. Both Bern and Luzern are within easy reach and even Zurich or Geneva are not so far away. Guest access You have the middle floor of our house to yourself. In the basement there is a laundry room which is shared with the two permanent tenants and which you can use free of charge. - Do only use your own detergent or the one provided in the cleaning cabinet in the kitchen. DON't use the detergent in the laundry room! It belongs to our other tenants. Use the detailed directions which have been created for our guests. If you can not find the key please re-read the directions and don't just wonder around and ask who ever happens to be in the vicinity. They are sent to you by email once the reservation has been confirmed. The are also available in the apartment. Other things to note This apartment is used by our own family for holidays and rented out to external guests just a few times a year. In between it is first cleaned and then stays empty. We like to provide a save, affordable place for family vacations. If you are a family with teenagers you can ask me for a refund of the extra person charge. :-) Please DO NOT disturb neighbours or the permanent residents in the house. They are not your hosts. You have a detailed guest-manual should help you to find everything. Please do read it and always consult it first if you have questions. Hot water: Please use hot water with consideration. There is quite a big hot water supply for the whole house which is heated up during the night. It does however run out if several people take long showers. The apartment you will be staying in is on the second floor of a three floor house. Please be aware that there are two permanent residents: One on the ground floor (first floor), the other on the third floor. As it is an old house, you can hear the person above walking - and they can hear you too. For your information: The resident on the ground floor smokes and depending on wind and weather this can sometimes be smelled in the apartment or in the stairway. Our tenants do have cats living with them. The cats are never in our own apartment. but if you are allergic, you might not want to use the shared washing machine.
