Description

Welcome to Compass Crash Pad, your private studio in New Haven! Perfect for Yale visitors, medical professionals, travel nurses, students, and weekend travelers. Enjoy a full kitchen, private bathroom, queen bed, cozy sitting area, dining space, and a cot (please bring your own bedding). Conveniently located just minutes from Yale University, Yale New Haven Hospital, Saint Raphael Campus, downtown, restaurants, and public transit. Ideal for short or extended stays! The space The Compass crash pad is a private apartment in a building with several other apartments that was built over a 100 years ago. Professionally managed by The Connection Rentals in New Haven, Connecticut - a time trusted local provider of furnished accommodations for over 10 years.    We work closely with medical professionals, corporate clients, and extended-stay guests to provide consistent, high-quality housing experiences throughout the area. This apartment is close to downtown with original wood floors, windows that let a lot of sunshine in, your own private kitchen and bathroom, a dinette, sofa, closet, and a cot, (bedding is not provided for the cot), which Air bnb labels as a twin bed, in the large closet in the sitting room. Please note that it is in an old house in a somewhat urban/residential area of New Haven. Some see the photos and think it is a spa experience or something. It is not. It is a crashpad. Think crashpad. It's a rough and ready place to stay. You need to understand this. If you do, then happy to have you! There is parking in the rear of the home. Usually parking is available in the back, however, if it is isn't, residential parking in the area is free as well. In the rare event that neither residential parking or parking behind the building is available, there are garages nearby as well. The room is prepped prior to each guest, however, keep in mind that the listing is labeled a crashpad, (not luxury), and they have to work very quickly change out the linens, briefly go through the room, bathroom, kitchen and common areas. Example: They do not have time to hand dust each leaf of a fake plant, etc ;) This is an old building. To set your expectations for this particular old building, many things have to be made especially for this building as modern items do not always fit historic structures. You may find doors that do not fit precisely, or perhaps window screens that had to be hand made and do not fit as well as brand new screens do, and things along that nature. During your stay, these old properties often have new things that come up that need a repair. We simply ask that if that happens to you, that you let us know so that we can resolve it. As it is an old building, we also have it treated regularly for rodents and bugs, however, that does not mean that there is a magical barrier that absolutely prevents you from ever seeing a rodent or bug. Prior to reserving a room from us, you need to be realistic and comfortable with the above. If not, we do not recommend that you reserve this listing. Thank you. In summary, though this is a humble place to stay, all good people live there, though the Doctor that lives down the hall is known to smoke now and then - we've asked him to stop, however, he still does. Sometimes it is a faint smell, sometimes it is strong. If you are okay with that -it is an all around really good value close to downtown. Guest access You'll have exclusive access to the entire private apartment, giving you complete privacy throughout your stay. Enjoy the convenience of self-check-in, allowing you to arrive and check in at your own pace whenever it's most convenient for you. PARKING: Free, unassigned off-street parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Other things to note For guests that are staying longer: understand that guest prep prepares the room prior to your stay with toilet paper, clean linens, etc. However that is it. The price does not accommodate for hotel services to send people in every day to clean after you and others which is why it is of the utmost importance that you clean after yourself immediately. After the initial preparation, any further toiletries, washing of linens and cleanliness is your responsibility. This is both for your sake and the sake of others in the event you are in a shared apartment. Should we find that you are not being clean or should you request refills of initials toiletries of kleenex, soap, etc, you may be charged for it. Of note: for laundry, there are laundromats in the area that pick up, wash, dry & fold your laundry, typically for very reasonable prices. Feedback from guests say that it seems to average around 30.00. A good laundromat that does this is 5 Star Laundromat or Howe Street Laundry and there are other laundromats as well. Parking - there is free parking directly behind the property and free street parking. We just recommend to observe and follow any signs put up by city if they need the streets clear for street sweeping, snow plowing, etc. Mail/Package: If you wish to receive a package and to ensure the security of your mail and packages, we kindly request that you refrain from having deliveries or mail sent directly to our property address. Instead, we recommend setting up a P.O. Box for any mail or packages you may expect during your stay. Setting up a P.O. Box provides a secure and convenient alternative, helping to protect your deliveries and personal information Snow: maintenance comes to plow within 24 hours after snow has stopped. They do not dig out your car however, so if you are staying at a time there is snow, we recommend perhaps parking your car in a paid garage where you will not have to remove snow and ice from your car. If you are staying during the winter, we recommend bringing warm clothing as the properties are old, do have heat, however, in the event that it is not warm to your expectations.
