Description

Outdoor bath, camp fire in winter, crystal clear water in summer*, comfortable beds, modern toilet and shower, and free roaming alpacas while camping in nature? If this what you would like for a break, this is the place for you! Not your ordinary BnB, you will be staying in restored vintage caravans located in 7 acres. Enjoy some precious alone time, go for bush walks or visit vineyards. It’s a small piece of paradise to RnR, and be one with the nature. *weather dependent The space If you love camping but not the packing and unpacking, this is for you! The property is amongst the trees in the valley next to the Swan river, a short walking distance to Bells Rapids Park, Jumpbuck Hill and Walyunga national park. You will be staying in our refurbished vintage caravans on our property surrounded by nature. You have the place all to yourself! You will be provided with three vans, one being the master bedroom van comprised of a queen bed and a day bed. The second van houses the dining, kitchen and lounge. The third van is a Japanese tea house for you to enjoy tea or coffee. If there are more than two guests it can be converted into a tatami bedroom. We provide outdoor BBQ facilities and the kitchenette in the caravan is also fully functional. There is a shower block with modern facilities so that you don’t need to make any compromises. We also have an outdoor stone bath and shower for you to enjoy. There are a lot to do in the swan valley. Guests can easily take a bush walk or visit the vineyards and all the tourist attractions. Spring is the best time to see the wild flowers and autumn is great for bush walking. In winter the place is just burst with greenery. In summer, it’s hot but if the river is still running, you could find yourself in a paradise by swimming in the river. No matter what season you come, it’s always beautiful immersing yourself in the nature. At all times, you could enjoy the coziness of the van, read a book, listen to music, or to wind or rain. In between that, you can put your walking boots on and go for a bush walk. We have 8 alpacas on the property. They are curious, cautious and a little shy. It’s fun to observe them grazing around, taking a mud bath and playing with each other. Guest access We live in the property at the front and you stay in our big backyard. You will have exclusive access of the back gate and have your private area. The property is 7 acres in size therefore privacy is not compromised. Other things to note Water The caravans are connected to town water so just use it like what you would normally do at home. You can drink the water. Electricity There’s only solar power supplying the vans. You’re able to charge your mobile phone, that’s it. If it’s a rainy or cloudy day, the lights will be dim. BBQ There are two BBQ on site. The silver one requires a lighter to light up as the inbuilt pilot light is broken. The black one works fine. When using the BBQ, we would like you to use the foil to cover the plate if possible. It is to help with the cleaning later on. The roll of foil is under the BBQ. If you are not familiar with using the Bbq please let us know. We will be happy to help you out. Outdoor bath The outdoor stone bath now has hot water supply but it comes from a good 20m away so the first few minutes will be cold. Please don’t waste the water. Put the plug on and later on the hot water should mix well with it. Please do NOT use any products in the bath as the water will be used for our garden. Insects Yes, just like when you go for a picnic or camping, insects are a part of outdoor life. I have prepared insect repellent for you. If it runs out, just let me know. Fire This area is bush fire prone so fire is very restricted. Usually fires are allowed from May to October but it will have to depend on the weather. If it’s windy and dry, camp fire is a No No. Smoking is prohibited in the property. Air conditioning No air conditioning. You do have to take what nature offers. Bookings may be cancelled due to severe weather conditions. Fees will be refunded in this circumstance. Upkeep of the caravans The caravans are vintage Viscount caravans. We are trying to preserve the original exterior and the old windows are difficult to replace. The old opening mechanism is not very strong therefore you may need to handle with care when opening or closing the windows. I have left some sticks by the window if the mechanism fails to work. You can use the stick to support the window to keep it open. Registration details Exempt
