Description
A short 10 minute walk from Ravensbourne Station (3o-4o minutes to Central London), The Lodge is nestled in the trees off a private road. It features a bedroom (double bed), kitchen and bath/shower plus two sofa beds in the open plan living area. The lodge is part of our home and sits within the same grounds, but is in all other respects independent. The space The Lodge is an outbuilding on the property behind a Walter Segal-designed and built home. Located off a quiet, private road, surrounded by trees and a 10 minute walk to the massive Beckenham Place Park, The Lodge is near both Ravensbourne and Bromley South stations for quick access to Victoria and/or Blackfriar's / King's Cross. In the other direction, trains also run to the beautiful Kentish countryside: Sevenoaks and Eynsford are among the towns that can be accessed on the line. The property feels like a hunting lodge and features skylights as well as a small sunny balcony. It backs onto the tree-lined garden of the Bromley Court Hotel, and is next to the Italian Villa, an eighteenth century building hat maintains many of its original features. It is really best suited for a couple or two people, but the sofa beds sleeps one in relative comfort (or two in much less comfort). But if you are on a budget and not fussy go for it! It is "self catering" with a fridge freezer, cooker, washer-drier mod cons, etc. We provide a welcome 1/2 a pint of milk, coffee and tea. We look forward to hearing from you! Guest access Guests have private access to the studio as a separate living space - one bedroom; a bath with shower; kitchen with fridge, freezer, gas hob, pots, pans and cooking utensils; and the main living space featuring a 42" plasma screen and BlueRay disc player with digital TV; and a sofa bed. An ironing board and iron is provided, as is a Dyson vacuum. The garden is shared but should be available if you would like to use it. We can also provide numbers for local taxi companies (for Ravensbourne or Shortlands). Bromley South is well serviced with black cabs. It is particularly easy to get into Kent and to Gatwick Airport from this location. Our preference is check in after 2 pm and check out before 2 pm, but we can be flexible. During your stay We are a family with two children in the main house in front of the Lodge. Children are welcome, but we ask parents to make sure that the space is treated with respect. If you want to invite guests over, please let us know in advance. It can be startling to have 5 unexpected strangers appear in your garden without notice! Other things to note Good bus routes, Ravenbourne (8-10 min) and Bromley South (15-20 min) walking distance away. Check out our Guidebook!
