The space In the heart of Aramoana beachside village, you will find a unique and exquisite mini castle where an Ark was built in the front garden. Welcome to the castle! Description The Castle at Aramoana. A magical place. Have you ever dreamed to be a captain? Or to rule in your own kingdom? At the Castle guest house, you can be both! Come discover this unique castle by the sea which has evolved from a crib after 8 years of hard work, built by Margaret, Doi and friends. Structure made from natural wood in post and beam style. Surrounded by gardens and just five minutes walk from the beach. General Information Aramoana is a half hours drive from Dunedin. Drive through Port Charmers down the main street and turn left at the container port. Follow the road around the harbor, it is a lovely scenic route. If traveling by bus, you will get as far as Port Chalmers. We can arrange transport from there if needed. It is also a very easy road to hitch, if you are that way inclined. Port Charmers is the last place to shop, there is a small supermarket and garage. Accommodation details The colorful caravan for the eternal traveller A double bed and a view of the hen run. Nestled inside the hedge and charming in it's smallness, the hedge hut has hints of a monastic life. It has a writing desk and single bed for those seeking time out. Step back in time into the captains cabin $50pp Full of old worlde relics, a puppet poking it's head around the corner, and a life size albatross hovering; the captains cabin is a treasure trove of mystery. A place where spiderwebs on the chandelier are welcomed! It houses a high bed, for high seas! Ahoy! The turret bedroom $50pp Wood lined, with a view of the cliff, the turret room has a light and spacious feel. You can breakfast on the balcony and take in the refreshing sea air. A golden room with a bed fit for a queen! Climb another set of stairs from the bedroom and you will discover a peaceful sanctuary at the top of the tower. Breakfast at the Castle is a continental selection of yoghurt, fruit, cornflakes, home made muesli, wholemeal bread, spreads and porridge for the hearty. Home grown free range eggs on request.
