Description

Kookal is a beautiful and quaint drive away from Kodaikanal, the Princess of Hills, 15 kms after Poomparai. If you are able to overcome the temptation of stopping by at the charming spots that dot the route, you can cover this distance of 32 km in a little over an hour from Kodaikanal. It is a perfect destination for those on the lookout for offbeat places to stay. Our cottage is located in a 5 acre property, facing the Shola forests and has an excellent view of the Kookal lake. The space The cottage can accommodate 5 people, 2 in the bedroom which has a queen size bed and 3 in the living room (the sofas can double as beds). Cars can be parked inside the property. In addition, we have a Double Room in the Mud House listed separately which can sleep 2 people, with an attached washroom. (Listed as 'Double Room at Kookal Eco Farms in the Mud House'.). The property is ideal for families and bachelors and can accommodate up to 7 people in total. Dark skies are spectacular in Kookal and will be a treat for star gazers. Full moon nights are generally brighter and create a blissful ambience. You can check the Moonrise, Moonset and Moon Phase calendar for Kodaikanal online to know the above. Guest access Feel free to access all areas of the property which include the campfire spot, the gazebo, vegetable farm and the fish pond formed by rainwater harvesting. Campfire, barbecue, fishing etc. can be arranged on request at extra cost. Other things to note 'Tiruvila' During the local 'tiruvila' or festival at Kookal, they will be playing loud music in the Village which is about a kilometre away from our farm. Kookal has no fuel stations. So remember to refill fuel before you leave Kodaikanal. There are no liquor shops too in Kookal.
