The space Taara House: A Serene Retreat in the Himalayas Perched atop a 6,600-foot hilltop, Taara House is a charming labor of love crafted entirely by a family, blending classic and mid-modern styles. Set against the spectacular backdrop of the Himalayas and surrounded by lush pine forests, this idyllic cottage is located just 3 km from Manali city center and a mere 500 meters from the iconic Hadimba Temple. Design & Architecture The two-bedroom cottage is constructed with reclaimed and recycled wood, featuring exquisite materials such as Burma Teak, English Oak, and Pine. A standout highlight is the enchanting glasshouse, perfect for stargazing or soaking up the sun. The interiors are thoughtfully designed, with Scandinavian light fixtures, bespoke furniture, and a curated collection of fine art. Traditional Himachali touches, such as a Bukhari (Indian fireplace), add warmth and authenticity to the experience. The spacious bedrooms are adorned with stylish furnishings, including cozy sofas positioned to capture breathtaking mountain views. Guests can also request access to the top-level garden, which offers panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscape. Amenities • Kitchen: Fully equipped with a microwave, OTG, and coffee machine. Guests wishing to cook must bring their own groceries. Housekeeping includes one round of dishwashing, with additional cleaning available at an extra charge. • Dining Options: Breakfast and dinner are available at an additional cost, either per meal or as part of a pre-booked package. • Offseason Rates: ₹350 for breakfast, ₹400/450 for lunch/dinner. • Peak Season Rates: ₹500 for breakfast, ₹600 for lunch/dinner. Meals must be booked in advance. Getting There • By Road: Manali is a 14-hour drive from Delhi. Volvo buses are highly recommended for a comfortable journey. • By Air: The nearest airport is Kullu/ Bhuntar Airport, about 1 hour and 15 minutes from the house. Flights operate from Chandigarh and New Delhi only. • By Train: There is no train service to Manali.
