Set on 27 acres and surrounded by gums and chestnut trees, this private rural retreat is within a 10-minute drive to cafes, restaurants, shops, picturesque walks and the famous Puffing Billy. The Yarra Valley is only a 30-minute scenic drive to local wineries and farmers' markets. Fully functional kitchen and laundry. The space This beautiful rural retreat is the ideal place to unwind and relax. Handcrafted from recycled stone, wood and brick, Writer’s Block has everything you need to slow down and connect to nature. Old meets new with a modern bathroom and fully functional kitchen beautifully contrasted by a bespoke stone wall and wood fireplace. Enjoy yoga or a cup of tea on the back deck and listen to the sounds of magpies, rosellas, cockatoos and king parrots. We even have our own resident magpie to welcome you - Mrs Cheeky Chops ! So if you are afraid of birds this might not be the retreat for you! 🥰 Writer’s Block is in an ideal tourist location; close to Olinda with cafes and shops, Sherbrooke Forest, Puffing Billy (leaving from Belgrave or Emerald and arriving at Gembrook), Yarra Valley, Healesville Sanctuary, Macclesfield Trout Farm, Silvan Tulip Festival in September, Emerald Lake park, many stunning walks and these are just a few things you can enjoy in and around the picturesque Dandenong Ranges. You will have the entire retreat to yourself during your stay. Our home is 500 metres away and is not visible from the retreat. If you need to contact us please do this by phone. You will be able to let yourself in. We will leave instructions where to find the key. Guest access The approximately 3 acres that Writer's Block sits on. Other things to note Basic breakfast ingredients provided such as cereals, bread, spreads, juice, milk, coffee, tea. BTW: you will need a car to get to cafes etc. There is no public transport available.
