Bright, comfy & stylish flat near Portobello
Bright, comfy & stylish flat near Portobello
Big and bright 2-bed near Portobello market & tube
Description
With huge sash windows, 10-foot ceilings and a sparkling interior, this place is the perfect London base. It's just 100 metres from Ladbroke Grove tube station, Portobello market is around the corner, and both Kensington Gardens and Holland Park are a (very pleasant) fifteen-minute walk away. The space The apartment is spacious, bright and recently modernised and occupies the entire first floor of a large Victorian house (i.e. the second floor in US-speak - one up from ground level). Both bedrooms have double beds, though one's larger than the other. There's wall-to-wall storage in one room, and a full-size wardrobe in the other. The house looks on to lime and plane trees, and light floods through the sash windows and French doors even on the grimmest day. There are fans to cool you in summer, cast-iron radiators to toast you in winter, and rugs, cushions and a sofa to keep things comfy throughout. The kitchen's well-equipped (fridge/freezer, microwave, hob, dishwasher, washer-dryer, coffee maker), and there's a good shower above the bath tub. The flat backs onto the Westway, an overpass through central London. Acoustic double-glazing keeps the flat quiet though, and no one's ever complained about traffic noise. The flat is non-smoking, but there's a sizeable roof terrace (about 120 square feet) where you'd be welcome to light up at your leisure. Guest access You'll have fresh linen and towels, along with basic toiletries, hairdryer, clothes iron, socket adapters for US and European plugs, and all the standard kitchen stuff you'd expect, including kettle, toaster, coffee maker and cooking staples. The 43-inch 4K TV is logged in to Netflix and Amazon Prime, and there's ultra-fast wifi. Other things to note The flat's above ground, so there are some steps to climb - 27 in total.
