Welcome to your executive apartment at Governor Place! From the 4th floor of the complex you will have a stunning living-room view that overlooks Red-Hill and your bedroom view will overlook Parliament House. The apartment is spacious, modern and well-furnished. The Barton grocer is just outside your doorstep if you need to do a last minute grocery shop and you will find yourself in the heart of Canberra in this apartment with the Kingston Foreshore & Lake Burley Griffin a short stroll away. The space The apartment was the display apartment for the building and despite being South/East facing it is incredibly light and homey. In summer the afternoon sun fills up the bedroom and balcony. You will have the entire apartment to yourself during your stay. The apartment is modern, well-furnished and has all of the essentials and more, such as: • A generous and fully-equipped kitchen • Small study area • Dining table with 4 chairs • High speed WiFI • Secure underground carpark • Reverse cycle air conditioner and heater • Dishwasher, washing machine, dryer • Electric stovetop, microwave and oven • Spacious balcony with outdoor seats and table • Double bed and pullout couch bed • Barton Grocer supermarket less than 1 minute walk away • Nearby restaurants including The Ottoman & Vincent • Nearby cafes such as Hideout & Little Bird • Barton bus station 2 minutes walk away There is a communal courtyard for the apartment with well-maintained gardens with a BBQ facility in the centre. To see some spectacular gardens go for a stroll through the Landmark apartments next door which have some of the best maintained gardens I've come across in an apartment complex. This was my favourite place to spend time in the first 2 years I lived here. You can't find a nicer place to sit with the laptop or a nice book on a warm afternoon! Guest access Guests will have the entire 1 bedroom apartment to themselves. The apartment can be accessed from the 4th floor of the Governor Place complex. Please note there is a strict "no smoking, no drugs, no parties" policy in this apartment including the balcony. This includes cigarettes and vaping. Any violation of these rules will result in a minimum $500 non-negotiable penalty including any damages and guests being asked to vacate the property. The neighbours nearby are sensitive to smoke and noise so please be mindful of this. I also complete all of the cleaning on the apartment - this keeps the cleaning fee low for guests. I do however expect people to leave the apartment clean and in similar condition to how they arrived. Any significant messes will result in an additional $50 cleaning fee being charged. Please also be mindful that most neighbours live here permanently and so they do have a right to expect it to be reasonably quiet during the hours of 10pm-8am. Other things to note The apartment is fitted with a dehumidifier. Please note that running this during the winter months is appreciated to prevent condensation from occurring on the windows. Instructions on running it are provided with the welcome pack for guests. Please note that there is a requirement for guests to have at least 3 reviews associated with their AirBnB account and to have a complete profile to make a booking. This is a strict requirement. If you would like to stay but do not meet this criteria please reach out with an enquiry/message before making a booking. Exceptions can be made in certain circumstances but automatic bookings that do not meet this requirement will be cancelled. To support the environment this apartment is fitted with green energy and registered with the carbon neutral program. The apartment has a high Energy Efficiency Rating which helps to keep it warmer in winter and cooler in the summer months. For the summer months there are pedestal fans that can be provided to guests on request. The apartment is fitted with one table fan as well as air conditioning. Please note that the apartment contains belongings in the cupboards. Half of the wardrobe has been cleared to make space for guests who will be staying longer-term. If you need extra space for storage or clothes please contact me about this as I can make arrangements. If you are wanting to book a longer stay but are seeing dates blocked off please send me a message so I can make arrangements for your booking. The WiFi in the apartment has a monthly download limit of 50GB per month. This should be sufficient for most people's uses (streaming, surfing the web, etc).
