Lunar Lodge: Spacious Farmhouse in Macedon Ranges

Set on a 40 acre property, Lunar Lodge is a modern farmhouse nestled between the Heathcote & Macedon Ranges wine regions offering a fully equipped kitchen, laundry & beautiful concrete floors. A short 15 min drive from Kyneton & 5 min from Redesdale. Barfold has stunning sunsets, dazzling night skies & is secluded away from traffic noise. The property has over 10,000 daffodil bulbs on display in Spring. Slow down, breath country air, watch our rescued animals from your window Kids welcome The space Lunar Lodge is an entire house with private entry, private parking and is separate from the host house, although joined by a breezeway and locked doors. You're privacy is respected. The kitchen is fully equipped (no microwave). There is plenty of fridge & cupboard space available too. Split system heating & cooling & wood fireplace (no wood provided during warmer months, you are welcome to BYO) Our accommodation is self check-in with parking provided on site. The Lodge is an open plan house with a separate bedroom and ensuite. This space is perfect for solo travellers, romantic couple getaways or small family stays. We welcome infants and toddlers! so hard to find around this region. The daybed in the living space can easily be turned into a single bed. A queen blow up mattress MAY be available on request ($15 linen charge) Fast Starlink wifi available But it can be patchy in bad/windy weather. There are no stairs in the property, but there is a small step into the entrance. From the car to the door is a pebbled path with a slight slope (no rails) The acreage is host to a mini rescue animal sanctuary but we do not offer a "farmstay" experience or a hands-on animal experience; however you are often able to watch the kangaroos from your windows and can take a stroll to watch the steers, alpaca, sheep & lambs from the fence lines and hang out with the peacocks, chickens & ducks. The chickens are usually out free-ranging on a weekend so please be sure to tell us if you dont want them sussing you out to see if you packed them any snacks. The sheep will welcome you if you bring along some weet-bix as a treat for them. There is a kids playground in the fron yard that you are welcome to use. Note: The flying fox requires adult supervision at all times and can hold 110kg. Plenty of free family activities/playgrounds/library etc within 20 min drive. Free BBQ at the hall, 1 min drive away. Lunar Lodge is vegan friendly with a focus on being cruelty-free. We make an effort to be as zero waste as possible. We have a farm gate stall Fri-Mon which sells rainbow eggs, sourdough bread and flowers depending on the season/availability - during the colder months the stall is closed as the girls are taking a break from laying eggs. 15 min drive to Kyneton, 10 min to Turpins Falls, 15 min to the Metcalf Cascades, 5 min to Redesdale pub. An abundance of wildlife is around beautiful Barfold. If you are lucky, you will sight a rock wallaby as you drive in. NOTE: We are unfortunately not pet friendly due to our micro sanctuary & fencing set-up. If you have a sensitive pet allergy, our accommodation will not be suitable as pets occasionally stay at the lodge when we have family members stay with us. of course, the house and linens are cleaned between each and every guest, but very sensitive allergy suffers may find this a problem. Other things to note The cow fencing is electric Children will need to be supervised when outdoors 100% of the time Firewood is not supplied in the late Spring or during Summer The split system in the bedroom is not working but the main split system works a treat, there is a wood fire and the bedroom has an electric heater too if you need.
